| This Independence Day I'll walk hand in hand with gays | |||
On celebration of our 62nd year of Independence, I write today as a fourth generation Indian army daughter and not Celina Jaitly.
Hareesh Raao:
And i dont understand one thing.. I have read so many posts not only here, even in newspapers saying no religion accepts homosexuality so it should be banned.. Did logic defy the brains or how didnt common sense prevent such people from posting such shit? First of all religion has nothing to do with a personal choice. Ours is a fundamental democratic secular nation. Do these stupid religious chaunists know the meaning? If they dont please someone tell them to get a dictionary.
Irrespective of whether a religion accepts homosexuality the law is equal. Coz homosexuality is not preventing this bloody government to stop taking taxes from gay people? They are also tax payers of this country and have everty right to enjoy their rights. Our country is not religion driven so the mere point of bringing religion into this is insipid. Even if jesus or allah or krishna supported homosexuality that shouldnt be a basis to accord the due respect it deserves.

true but statistics show that more than homosexuals its the heterosexuals who have spread hiv the most
and from past ten yrs its heterosexual spread that had the highest incidence and also the highest rise...so should you ban heterosexuality too?
from what i know is it is none of anybody's business to interfere in the life of others. basically am neither supporting nor opposing homosexuality
And society has absolutely no right to pass its judgements on a person based on sexuality. There are so many people starting from vikram seth who made India proud.. So judging a person on the basis of sexuality is the cheapest n the stupidest thing ne1 cud do
Deepak Kumar:
Indian Christian: Ohh...so you've been checking the dictionary for finding meanings of the Bible verses ???? No wonder, you are so clueless, oblivious. I repeat, get a teacher and start studying the Bible in the manner that it should be, and you would know, how homosexuality falls withing the framework of adultery ?
Btw, just tell me one thing; do you believe in the OT, at all, or have you discarded it ?? Now, please do respond to this one >
Indian Christian:
Deepak Kumar, in whose Bible is homosexuality within the framework of adultery? I suggest you begin by looking up the meaning of the words adultery and homosexuality in a standard dictionary. You will notice that their meanings are quite different.
As to the rest, we could only go in circles, because you are apparently not reading my responses at all. More of the same? For what?
You don't sound audacious at all. Merely ignorant about the REAL message of Jesus and extremely self-righteous. You are so eager to condemn homosexuals that you are prepared to say that adultery and homosexuality are synonyms! There are at least 90% heterosexuals in the world. If you were as enthusiastic about stopping fornication, adultery and divorce among them, the children of this world would be grateful to you.
So when are you going to become an activist to stop fornication, adultery and divorce among heterosexuals? Add to that the heinous crime of abortion which is the result of unwanted pregnancies.
Deepak Kumar: Indian Christian: and yes...though I've answered your queries, you are still to give a reply to my question. Awaiting ......

Deepak Kumar:
Indian Christian: Good that you're reading the Bible again. Let me remind you that the "Ten Commandments' and 'Sermont on the Mount' are Capsules and contain a world within them. Why else would the Bible contain all the experiences, incidents and history of people; it could have been just summed up within a few pages.
So keep reading (that's a good thing) and am sure you would be enlightened. I don't want to sound audacious but God has been very kind to me to have revealed quite a lot through His Holy Spirit and am sure He would do the same for you.
BTW, homesexuality is within the framework of Adultery; just for your study purpose.

Naved Yarkhan wrote 05 Oct, 2009: "Homeosexuals are most prone to acquire & transmit HIV infection, according to Naz Foundation, petitioner in her petition against Section 377 IPC.Celina, review your thoughts on the issue."
Mr Yarkhan, although HIV/AIDS was first diagnosed in homosexual men in the early 1980s, and it had remained a disease found *predominantly* (please note that predominantly does NOT mean exclusively) among homosexuals in the West, it is no longer the case for a long time now. In the West HIV/AIDS was also found in great numbers among drug users because of needle sharing. In African and Asian countries, including India, HIV/AIDS has remained predominantly a disease of heterosexuals, transmitted also through prostitutes, and to the innocent wives of heterosexual men who contracted the disease from prostitutes. Because the diagnosis was not made, many children were born with HIV/AIDS.
Homosexual orientation does not automatically mean sexual promiscuity.
Indian Christian:
Mr Yarkhan, it is essential to know that HIV is spread through direct contact with body fluids only: blood (hence the transmission via blood transfusion, needle sharing, and babies getting the disease if the mother is infected) and body secretions during sexual act. The virus dies when the body fluid is exposed to the atmosphere for some time. Saliva and sweat does not transmit the virus. So normal contact with an HIV infected person is safe. Only sexual contact and direct blood to blood contact is to be avoided.
It is essential to decriminalize homosexuality in order that those who are HIV positive may be treated, not only to save their lives but also to make sure they do not spread the disease to others. Decriminalizing homosexual activity between consenting adults with the same sexual orientation also ensures that all homosexuals can be given education regarding prevention of HIV/AIDS. No homosexual is going to get education or treatment if they are treated like criminals.

Deepak Kumar:
Since I asked you to meditate on the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount at least for a hundred days, I have decided to follow my own advice.
To make reading easier for you or anyone else who is interested, I'm posting links. I hope that helps.
The Ten Commandments:
Exodus20:1-17 (Old Testament)

http://www.bibleplus.org/tencommandments.htm
The Sermon on the Mount
Gospel of Matthew, chapters 5 to 7 (New Testament)

Indian Christian:
Deepak Kumar, you are a funny man. You really are. Go and read the Bible from beginning to end like I said, meditate on the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount for at least a hundred days, meditating on it every single day and then return to read my comments on this blog from the beginning. It will make more sense to you and you will be able to answer my questions to you and the question you put to me to test if I was a Christian.
Good Luck!
Deepak Kumar:
Indian Christian: You know you have lost on both fronts. First with Hindian (I read thoroughly your stuff with him, where you finally had no answer / reply for him and kept repeating irrelevant stuff) and now you dont have any answer to be given to me, so you tell me that I am not a Christian - HA HA HA. The problem with you is you are trying to be in Two Boats (the oldest example for any confused mind) and that's why you are not able to decipher or reply to any relevant discussion. Yes, one thing I would agree is You do have information; but information without explanations is devastating and that's exactly what was happened in your case.
The very fact that you assume there is a difference between OT and NT describes you completely. You once again judged me (again contradicting yrself) by stating that I'm not a Christian and moreover you assumed that I dont even go to Church. Hey you are really funny !!! LOL I can only say that if you are a Christian, you are hell of a lot confused
Indian Christian:
Deepak Kumar, by claiming that there is no difference between OT and NT, you have exposed the fact you are not a Christian. So I suggest you read the Bible from beginning to end first and then return to continue this discussion.
You might like to read the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount specially and meditate upon it everyday for a few weeks before posting your next comment. The NIV Bible translation is good.
When you write comments here in the name of Christianity, you bring a bad name to Jesus Christ and all genuine Christians who follow His teachings to love. It is better for you to concentrate on making sure that all the Christians who attend your church (if indeed you are a Christian and attend one) follow the teachings of Christ and teach by example - with love and compassion. Let people who follow other religions and attend other Christian churches which teach real compassion, follow what they consider to be in keeping with being children of a loving God.
Thra M:
hello Mr. Deepak. How are you? I see you are still repeating yourself as usual without really listening to others. So, once again my earlier posts are enough here. Reply as before or another way. As you feel fit. Keep spinning.
@ Deepak: You can keep repeating yourself and your one-sided perceptions, but you can never take out the fact that I feel love, love and am loved. You have something happening in your head and your life- but that is not me.
Specific 'preachers' like you have perfected the art of demonising innocent people for ages - and that's exactly the case with you. Hows that for generalisation - just in line with your views about me? You have freed this dialogue through your irrational dialogue.
No, people in India, in general, do not hate like you. A 'mob' may, but not people who get to know you. You have it all wrong. I have lived enough as a Gay person in the country to know that.
Deepak Kumar:
Indian Christian: "ou claimed to be a Christian. Your comments leave me in doubt about your claim. So the onus is on YOU to prove me wrong, convince me of your real knowledge"
- Well, I firmly believe I have proved you Wrong, just like I did to Hindian Guy and Thra (your friends in disguise). I've amswswered each and every question of yours, if you read my comments closely and carefully. And hey, you dont need to convince me of your being a Christian, coz now, I know what belief system you follow.
My suggestion - READ THE BIBLE AGAIN AND AGAIN AND GET SOME GOOD TEACHER. I DID THE SAME AND THINK THERE SHOULD BE NO SHAME IN ASKING IF YOU DOUBT OR DON'T KNOW.
Deepak Kumar:
Indian Christian: "I would rather that these unfortunate children had homosexual couples who really loved them to take care of them"
- WHY HOMOESEXUALS ??? why not just people - Normal People. We should promote the idea of adoption in general. Why do you want to make this a case specific issue. It, anyways, is not. Your argument is so very self-contradictory; please read again, what you wrote.
Besides, if we truly believe in God and His power, we know for sure that even if we, as people, at times fail to fulfill His commands, He being God never forsakes His people. Moreover, the destitutes, the sick are their so that we can show our solidarity and oneness in God by serving them as His People and thus Glorify God.
Why do you want to force the gays into this picture, whom God anyways detests and has said so many times through His Word.
Deepak Kumar:
Indian Christian: "So if you would uphold the OT, you'd agree to divorce, but if you followed the teachings of Jesus Christ you would not."
- This shows / proves your understanding of the Bible. Divorce is meant not just in literal sense of this world, but means a detachment of God's people from the Word of God. The congregation is the bride or the wife of the Lord and He the Master or the Husband and it is our absolute faithfulness to our Lord in word and deed which signifies the perfect Love and if we disobey or stray away from His Word / Commands, we are actually detaching away or wanting a Divorce. Please read again and again to understand this so very sensitive and crucial aspect. You're yet to learn a lot, I mean a Lot : ) Rings a bell ???
Deepak Kumar:
Indian Christian: "DEFINITION OF CRIME: The act of one human being which hurts another human being."
- The gays are hurting and harming our society by giving them immoral options of using their bodies; and before you jump and hit the ceiling, let me tell you one thing - Not just Christianity, but all the belief systems agree on this particular statement. Homosexuals may not ask or convince or force anyone to become gay, but if they live freely, they have all the possibilities of influencing people, especially young minds, who are still in the learning stages. This is besides the fact, which I've already proven, of God calling this a SIN (the greatest form of CRIME)
Naved Yarkhan: Homeosexuals are most prone to acquire & transmit HIV infection, according to Naz Foundation, petitioner in her petition against Section 377 IPC.Celina, review your thoughts on the issue.

Deepak Kumar:
Indian Christian: "The Episcopal Church in the US is not an oppressed Christian church. Yet they have ordained a gay bishop who lives in a permanent relationship with his partner"
- NO Bishop / Priest is an authority in himself/herself. No one in this world lives without temptation and the risk of falling into one. Till the time you die. Just because someone claims to believe in God doesn't make him a righteousness person; but it's the lifestyle that you follow which others take notice of. BTW, U.S. is not yardstick of righteousness, anyways.

Hareesh Raao: The problem with indian society is it is full of hypocrites. Full of blood suckers and parasites and irrational idiots. And there is a dearth of real men. Real men fight with the actual important issues. They dont fight over silly shit. And worse irrespective of whther i read bible or gita or quran i do know that real men dont fight with weaker people.. If any one fights with weaker ones they are to be equated with eunuchs or hijras. And this is what every religion says.
Posted on Tue, 05 Jan, 2010 Report abuseDid vikram seth become such a great writer and make india proud with his homosexuality? Did that stop India from acknowledging his achievements? If we were such white lillies then let us stop calling him indian because vikram seth is gay and "illegal".. Our society loots whatevr it can as long as it benefits it else it will pull others down. Our great society shamelessly takes pride in vikram seths achievements n repeated calls him "indian" but still doesnt grant him his basic right?
