'Curry-bashing': Indians in Oz under attack!

"Vigilante" patrols=Gundagardi

Shekhar Mo
Topic owner: Shekhar Mo: "Vigilante" patrols if not authorized by local Govt are consider as a criminal Gangs (Gundagardi) . Your are not achieving anything by creating "Vigilante" patrols but making thing worse for yourself as I don't think any sane Indians wants gang wars. Work with Australian authorities folks.

Come to your senses. Don't spoil your entire career and get detained. Come home and take a year break and think about your future.

We are your well wishers.

Anjan Lal
Anjan Lal Hi, thanks for pointing out my mistake because I understand that its upsetting everybody in the forum. I'll take my words back and put them in a different aspect. I think class still remains a big debate in India, perhaps nt in the Western world because of which they're far more developed in their thinking and treatment of people than us Indians.

Now, I believe that the protests carried out by Indian students in Sydney were unneccessary. They were impatient and what's unbelievable is the fact that they couldn't devise another strategic plan to get to the police. Indians in India are enraged at the level of situation awareness on racial harmony in Australia. But, I still have to say that our people have to learn the very fact that this is a time of recession. Although Australia has recently slipped out of it, I totally agree with you that its because of uneducated junkies in Australia and other countries who can go all the way to attack and rob international students. In some cases, they were definitely racist and that neither the police nor the state governments bothered to take any apporpriate steps.

What's important for us in this blog is that we shun are internal differences and contribute our suggestions that could help improve the deteriorating situation in Sydney and Melbourne. I again apologise for the "lower class Indian" tag, but there are people who're quite new and haven't yet adapted with the Aussie lifestyle. Well, I'm not being bias, but the truth is that all of us Indians, the Indian media and government have got their suggestions presented, but we have to wait and see how the Australian government will consider them. Good luck!

Anjan Lal I think I'm not creating any sort of distinction amongst the class of people coming here to study or migrate. Well, you argued that I've been here and still can't speak English. Then why the hell am I bothered about goons like you despising people simply because you're jealous and thinkg that everybody would agree with your comments. Certainly not my friend! You need a desperate wake up call because you have no idea what I was talking about. I argued the fact that India isn't sending a very bright class of students. And that's a realistic fact. Have you got any idea how those guys behave in public and talk loudly. Well, the police has proved it and its our fault.

I totally stand shoulder to shoulder with every Indian student and migrant because we're the same blood. There isn't any problem with that. I'm not contradicting myself brother, but I can definitely tell you that I wasn't racist and that for you to brand me a racist pig doesn't show any sympathy from your side. Everybody here on this blog is abusing everybody and isn't coming to a simple solution. But, there's one thing you've definitely recommended and would strongly help the Australian police. You're right that they should hire people like me and create diversity to protect the interests of everyone coming here not because they're here to work, but to learn from different nationalities and blend with the Australian culture. Its something that takes time. Had our agents thought of that during the debriefing for prospective Indians travelling to Australia and New Zealand, I bet the situation would have been a lot more better.

Now, instead of engaging in a war of words, I think we should encourage each other to step forward with their thoughts and views. After all, everybody here has the freedom of speech and definitely have the right to share what they think would be of significant use for international students. So, brother, my advice to you is to think broader and be more understanding, which you aren't of the entire situation.

Jay Sharma You need to get off your high horse. What is low class Indians?? What century you are living in? I don't know if Aussies are racists or no but you are one racist mofo. Too bad you are going back to India, there would be one less racist pig in India.

You must have investigated all the attacks in Sydney to conclude that white Aussies were not involved. May be Australian police should hire you.

And living in Australia for 3 years surely didn't improve your English.

Mukul Sharma I am also here in Australia from 2006 as well, and I have seen things here around. How can you say someone idiot -- just because you haven't faced those situations. Low class Indian - wow. Who are you????? and probably I will say this is the problem with us Indians -- we have a big racism in ourself which we have to get rid off.. instead of being united you say that lower class and upper class -- what is this?????? - sorry diverted from my point read next

The fact is that these things are happening in Australia and and the system is not taking proper action - that's it. If police can't maintain law and Order - they should go and take off their uniform which they have worn to protect innocent people.
I agree not all Australians are racist - even I will say some people are really very good- but because these young bloody idiots who don't do anything and live on piss of government - looting and killing innocent people not getting enough punishment because of problems in the system - doing these activities.
These people don't study, day and night drink alcohol - become druggist and create problems. They have seen Indian people come here work and live good life, and sometimes even after speaking crap English earns good money - they get so frustrated -- they do these activities.

The only thing which can prevent this is to hit these people hard so they never think of doing these again or just change the police system so as these people get proper punishment instead of 50 HRS COMMUNITY SERVICE..

Anjan Lal If you're on Facebook, you should read some of the blogs formed on it because that's the social disgrace that we Indians have brought on ourselves. There were no White Aussies involved in the racist attacks in Sydney. Those Indian guys failed to underestimate the fact that they've now damaged India's wonderful image in the eyes of other communities in Australia. They have to work closely with the Lebs and Australians to improve India's image now.

Oh yes, vigilantes should remain in India and defend their own when the Indian police doesn't care a rat's ass about any critical events. You've to bribe the Indian police to actively take control of the situation. Australia has said no to those vigilante idiots. Come on then, we're 94,000 Indian students studying in Australia right now. You've got a bunch of idiots in Melbourne attacking Indians working at late night shifts and walking home in the dark when no one's around! The police can't hold the responsibility of protecting everybody in Australian cities. If they were to do that, wouldn't they have to protect all international students individually? That's propostrous given the fact that those idiots don't understand Australia as a country and end up making racist rants about Australians.

Not every Australian is racist. I've been here since 2006 and haven't in any sense faced discrimination. Its because of these low class Indians who don't want anything except migration in Australia. Well, I'm heading back to take control of my own business in India. All I want is a wonderful time in Australia to enjoy as both a student and tourist. I've got a long list of places to travel to.

I wished that these idiots never protested in the first place. This will intensify the backlash and will take a long time for sure to improve. Let's wait and watch what happens!

Amit Khan
Amit Khan Has anyone noticed how uneducated these people seem to be! Whenever they open thier mouth for the cameras the Indians are unable to construct a decent sentence. It is not a surprise that they are enrolled in bogus courses. Now things are not goind their way and they are reverting to old school gundagardi! Finally , one can say that there has been a systemic problem with government policy regarding immigration, and all will face the music, specially the decent Indians.
