Foods for happy periods

I thought i will share this with all my friends here, who like me detest those 5 days of the month- yes i am talking about periods and our PMS leaves us irritated and unhappy.
I read this article about how some foods can help, at first i thought its just a gimmick, but when i tried it , it really worked wonders, so i thought i will share it.

Magnesium-rich chow (spinach, whole grains) and foods with omega-3 fatty acids (salmon, sardines, walnuts) will steady your nerves.

Rising hormones insulate you from stress, so you'll find it easier to eat healthfully. Now's the time to load up on fruits and veggies.

All of your senses are heightened — including taste. Indulge in fabulous gourmet foods, such as cheese, lobster, beef, and good wine.

When progesterone peaks, the bowel slows down. High-fiber dishes like brown rice, barley, and vegetables will combat constipation while keeping your energy up.

Apples have lots of vitamins, so they tend to help. I have also heard that bananas are helpful. Drink lots of fluids, and warm is better than cold. Also, avoid soda and salt, because they cause bloating and clots. Red meat and salad have iron, which your body loses during your cycle, so they are good to eat as well. Acidy foods sometimes tend to cause more cramps and so do some fruits. Light excercise helps too because it relaxes your muscles. Try yoga or meditation to relax yourself. Sometimes you might crave like chocolate and stuff, and thats fine, eat what you want. NO FAST FOOD!!!! all that grease is just terrible. also, midol sometimes helps with cramps, but if not, talk to your obgyn about getting a pain killer like vicodin (thats what i take). Raisins tend to help as well.

drink a lot of fluids. Avoid things like pudding and coffee. Caffiene makes you urinate more and you need a lot of fluids when you're on your period because of the loss of water with blood. Take Buscopan plus if you could get the pills. If you can't find plus just take Buscopan and panadol with it. Very good with cramps. Choose to drink warm fluids rather than cold.
