I am very fond of kids and always wanted to have one but after a bitter experience of marriage dint have guts to try again and so wants to adopt a child. but due to our previous formalities and conditions couldn't succeed but now central adoption resource agency's announced that adopting a child would be easier for women. I am very happy that yes i can and be a sole guardian of the child. i am grateful to them but now my question to all here is how to go for it and from where? can anyone help?

Aparna Jorapur
Aparna Jorapur I think adoption brings happiness and every human has a right to be happy. Three parties benefit through this, the child the mother and father. Enriching ...socially for those parents feeling outcast and lonely and an opputunity for a child.

Madhavi Jain Adoption is such a sensitive topic for many of us. I am a adopted child and very interested in the adoption process. It is much different than it was years ago when I was adopted and actually way more options. My brother adopted his newborn son a few months ago on his own. No lawyers or expensive agencies etc.. Adoption is a beautiful thing. Much love to go around.

Shankar Manakkal Just make sure the child you adopt wasn't stolen... ask them for all info about the kid everything... ...

Find out the all the details and then only take your final decision. You owe the child that much.... at least... if you do really care about them like most of you claim..

Dinaz Javed
Dinaz Javed Be very careful before you adopt a child. Emotions should not be allowed to rule your dicision. First sit with your partner or family and discuss in detail. Only with mutual consent come to unanimous decisions.Consider the following before adopting.

1.can you take care of the child as your own throught your life?

2.Can you take care of the child as your own even when you get your child at later stage of your life?

3.Suppose the child becomes handicapped, disease prone or unintelligent will you still take care of the child?

4.Do you have any bias like gender, colour, caste or releigion of the child?Though this looks like silly questions it is very important.

5.Are you willing to give your best to the child?

After considering the above go ahead with adoption in any of the orphanages Like mother theresa orphanage or Ramakrishan mission etc.

My aunt have adopted one child and she is now 31 years married and well settled.

Aarti Nair
Aarti Nair @ Swagata Yeah agreed! proposed amendments would open more doors for abandoned or destitute children who were currently confined to non-caring institutions. But dont you think that we must be careful for example how do you balance vital roles that both parents play? We have seen many cases of single parents and it is an abnormal situation and not healthy for the child. I suggest those Single Parents going for adoption must make necessary arrangements for making up for the absence of the other parent. if you are well equipped and ready by all means then go ahead or just give it a thought before adopting a child.

Lakshya Chandrana .. It is a positive step indeed!!!!!!. But i strongly feel that some laws must be made flexible for children in need of care and protection. And a monitoring mechanism should be in place so that this is not misused by anyone..
