In west, people can't differentiate between Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis or Talibans. Most of them are ignorant and dont follow asian media and culture as closely as we do for the West. Many dont even know if Texas is in mexico or canada. It'll be unfair promoting such identity of asians in west. Shahrukh should just get on with it for now...

@Cool Indian, Buddy, you really don't seem to get this, do you?
SRK is an actor, and that says it all..a very pretentious actor indeed.
First he called up Indian Consulate, just because his so called "2 Hours" were being wasted, as per the reports of US security on newwark airport the exact time was 66 mins....anyways
But when he came back to India, he wasted more then 2 hours to give lengthy sugar coated and saintly interviews to media.....wasn't he wasting his time there?
He fell in a big trap by making this an issue, he visited US several times and he must have been frisked everytime he visited US....why didn't he cried that time? Makes sense?
When US govt. gave the solid and valid reason of his checking and questioning, he took a U turn in his statements...I am sure that you must have read his statements in US (don't say they were same).
He is a good entertainer, a good businessman, and a good politician too. He knows how to manipulate things around him, because we have innocent and star struck kids like you in our country who see his fake side and get mesmerized, but ignore his real side.
He made fun of himself and his nation...and that's what matters

To all the ignorant and illiterate fans of srk, who are supporting his "cry baby" act of disrespecting our nation....Have a look at this important information
What happens at a US port of entry (POE)
Inspection at a US Port of Entry: What to expect/What do CBP officials do?
* Upon arrival at the POE you must present your passport and other required documents. CBP officers will review these to determine whether to allow you to enter the US.
* Your first encounter with CBP officers will be at a primary inspection station where they ask foreign nationals questions to determine their identity and nationality.
* If they decide to admit you the CBP officer will also determine how long you will be allowed to stay in the US, and in what status you will be admitted.
* CBP officers review passports, visas, and other supporting documents of each and every foreign national arriving at a US POE. The CBP officers also compare fingerprint records and name check databases for recent derogatory information, ask questions about the foreign nationals general qualifications for the visas they have, review the Form I-94 Arrival and Departure Record (or, for Visa Waiver travelers, Form I-94W).
What Kind of questions do the CBP officers ask?
CBP officers at US POEs will ask you questions to determine the true intent of your trip to the US. Inspections Officers are trained, and have the experience to back up their training, to identify if a foreign national has a pre-conceived intent behind their trip to the US, i.e., they are looking to see if you are actually coming to go to school or for a job interview when you say you are coming to visit Disneyland. If an officer is not convinced with your initial statements, they may ask for additional supporting documentation be allowing you to enter the US.
CBP officials – their power and authority – what they can do?
CBP officers have complete power and authority at the POE. It is up to their discretion to conclude whether or not a foreign national is eligible to enter the US. It is only after a CBP officer stamps and dates the I-94 form, places an admission stamp in the foreign national's passport, and the foreign national passes through the inspection station that the foreign national is admitted to the United States.
Secondary Inspection – what leads you to a secondary inspection?
If the first CBP officer that a foreign national meets feels that the inspection requires additional time for review to determine a foreign national's eligibility, the officer may refer the foreign national for a “secondary inspection.” This secondary inspection is a much more comprehensive review, and can take several hours to complete. Generally a foreign national referred for secondary inspection is not considered to be “admitted” to the United States.
What generally happens in a secondary inspection?
In secondary inspection, CBP officers will ask a foreign national more detailed questions about their travel plans for the US. Foreign nationals may even be asked to produce additional identification and other documentation in order to determine their actual identity and purpose of their visit to the United States. The foreign national and their belongings may also be searched, and the foreign national may be required to give a full set of fingerprints.
Any person, foreign national or person with a claim to US citizenship and presenting a US passport, may be sent to secondary inspection if the CBP officer has reservations about admitting him to the United States. A person may also be sent to secondary inspection if there is a possibility the person is smuggling contraband or violating any other customs or immigration regulations, or federal law in general.

Let us ask one crucial question to SRK.
Whether he allows all and sundry to enter Mannat(his residence, i suppose), without proper identification and checking?
If YES then he is justified in making hue and cry about treatment given to him by US officials...

Manish Purohit Looks like you guys were sworn SRK haters even before this incident.
They first said it was publicity then it was arrogance being above the law etc. and now this new thing cash dealings.
- Interestingly, no other newspaper or international media reported the same story about promoter links etc.
- the same promoter has been hosting all Bollywood stars, while strange thing is the promoter himself has not been questioned neither other Bollywood stars. US said this was just usual checks and nothing special.
I am not really a big fan of his movies but here he is being portrayed in negative light as if he invited the questioning himself while in the past they did not even spare George Fernandes, Azim Premji, Abdul Kalam and South star Kamal Haasan.

No need to make such a fuss.Khan himself got himself in trouble, Officier asked him where is going? He said Asian festival. Then he Asia is made of Pakistan, india and Afghanistan. Officer didn't heard India and found something dodgy. Plus promoters of show had links to mafia in Pak and Khan meddles with them...His baggage didn't arrive so anyone will think he is upto something....otherwises also he does come across bit to something...

The security personnel did their DUTY. So what if one Khan was questioned....
They are doing their job the right way, so that no other "Khan" could pass weapons or explosives to the flight.

Kalam Sir is without doubt, a greater person. But SRK is more famous and here, its the celeb status that counts.
Rock Quartz
I will present a new viewpoint, not in favor of SRK, but our fellow Muslims: A name of Muslim is indeed likely to trigger undue caution from the US security. This just didn’t happen because of fun, but a larger equation of Muslim world in general with the US, as we all are well aware of it. So lets face it, a Muslim name is as likely to receive extra check up, quite similar to as US security would check extra for Mexicans in the southern States in the USA, but are they doing that right? That is the question!
Lets start asking that question from our Indian policemen first? How much of respect do our Indian policemen give to people they suspect? Has anybody dealt with that? Their behavior, language and or physical beating are similar to how people use to treat slaves during those days. Is that what we should expect for human beings? Now let’s jump and talk about the US security people. Don’t you think, however, nice they want to be towards tourists, their angst towards some Muslims would surface here and there? Com on? After all, man is that animal, who is trying to be civilized. So things happen, unfortunately!
But, SRK is a different story all together. A story that would show he is guilty of crime towards all our fellow Muslims. A crime, that may incite the existing threat to our global peace and security. Generally, all visitors to the US have to wait in a line/queue for up to 2-3 hrs. Those hours sound like days and months after travelling in air sometimes for 24 hrs without sleeping, so people are quite restless in that line/queue. Do you think a person with temperament like that of SRK, would just stand straight in that line, like a disciplined kid and all that in front of his fellow Indians who are also in the line? No, he will not. Now my inquiry is about if he showed his natural tantrums just because is ‘hila hua’ or he had an intent. Intent to see or show, that people with Muslim names may indeed require extra check up. Or may be that was just an excuse to get out of that line and rather sit in room? At what point he thought he was being treated like a general Muslim? or he had stage that event like an activist to show it to rest of the world. In either of cases he indeed broke the news to the world that how horrible US security is towards Muslims. What reaction would it bring it to the Muslim World? Do you think this is an act to bring awareness? Or create/bring animosity between our fellow Muslims and the ‘USA’? I think Kiran Chawla’s topic itself is an answer enough to prove how much of vengeance it has created not only among all Muslims but us as Indians in general. This act of SRK knowing or unknowingly ( I let that decision on him and his followers) has indeed fueled animosity to add to ongoing antagonism towards the USA. An antagonism, that will bring hatred and evoke retaliation against USA and their interests. This act is similar in forms as that of fanatic Muslims such as Osama, who cant see harmony and peace with other religions. If that’s what SRK wanted, he has done his job well. Else, he should apologize to our fellow Muslims and rest of the Indians to have knowingly or unknowingly instigated vengeance and disharmony. And this Kiran Chawla should go see Indian policemen and or serve/help 5 impoverished Indian kids as atonement for bringing shame to our fellow Indians.
Ideally, in case of our expecting a normal treatment for our fellow Muslims in the USA should be carried out by peace. For example, a rally similar to what Indian Sikhs did after 9/11. Bringing awareness is the only shield we could provide to guard our interests and peace in the world. That’s why I took out my hour worth of time to write this.
Lets start asking that question from our Indian policemen first? How much of respect do our Indian policemen give to people they suspect? Has anybody dealt with that? Their behavior, language and or physical beating are similar to how people use to treat slaves during those days. Is that what we should expect for human beings?
Uncle Saif
as retaliation, all indians especially GUJJUS and PANJABIS should not enter AMERICA
HAI DUM??
HAI DUM??
India First ok let readers decide..
India First comprehension is missing in you...i did not SUGGEST..i just remarked sarcastically...
India First uncool india, i never suggested anyone stops going to US..this great intellectual idea is from you and your dear uncle saif..
by the way, read times of india headline this morning..it came out as i predicted...the financial transactions..headline is "Heat on SRK was because of scanner on Bollywood shows"
you are a kid so better go and watch morning show of SRK meeting..all these points are way beyond your comprehension...

India First Uncle Saif, retaliation for what? infact, muslims all over the world cry that they are being profiled...how about they first retaliate by not going to america. Then we will think about the gujjus and punjabis.
Rrpt Eww Uncle Saif, excellent idea!! It will save us from having to deal with GUJJUS and PUNJABIS here in the US. They can stay in India and worship ur SRK and tell SRK to stay in India as well. Don't bother us with his frivolous behavior . Seriously dude, try to be more reasonable.
Rock Quartz I think Uncle Saif forgot to say ' that only GUJJU and PANJABI men should not enter AMERICA, so that he can have fun with GUJJU and PANJABI women !'
and he should say 'ab batao, HAI DUM??'
and he should say 'ab batao, HAI DUM??'

We are so busy in preparing reaction, and suddenly next thing happens. For how long we have to follow this policy, its high time to take action, not just sit and prepare reactions.
Shahrukh is not the first one everyone knows the history.
Or we can also take this as they are more concerned about there country and we are not. That we allow people to pass security checks easily because they are from a developed country.
Experience teach and action speaks.

Harvinder Singh, Delhi: The Abdul Kalam & Shahrukh Khan is different case. Abdul Kalm was president & has contribution to the country as a scientist but what is Shahrukh Khan's contribution to the country. Abdul Kalam has protocol but Shahrukh khan is a common citizen.
The secondary check by American security personal was a procedure of that country where all citizens have equal rights moreover security check is not insult of a person but we should praise their efforts to save their country from terrorist attacks. This is the reason that there is no any terrorist attack after 9/11.
I used to go America & also secondary security checked thrice. I found nothing wrong in it. They simply asked a few question but Shahrukh Khan felt insulted but this procedure is good for their security & should going & should check all persons whether Shahrukh.

TO KIRAN CHAWLA :
Really ... a tit-fot-tat attitude according to u would solve this? ..Madam..it will only make the situation worse and apart from this India would become a funny icon where people are so feeble minded ...and worls id indeed laughing on this...
shame on srk to bring this issue on the name of insult...whatever happened was the essential checkups that everybody has to go ..and what about those who are detained for long hours everyday?
India is not a weak country..as u said... rather there are some docks like srk to hype such issues unnecessarily....
It is because of these security's that there is no terrorist attack after 9/11 ...dont u think so ?
shame on srk... !

Those who are talking of treating the Americans the same way that Shah Rukh Khan was treated at the Newark International Airport, are nothing but a bunch of losers whose US Visa applications have been recently rejected. These people should note that not every Indian or Muslim is being subjected to what SRK was , at the US Immigration. US Immigration can randomly detain and interrogate anybody who they feel are threat to the country. US is a country and it has full rights to do that to anyone it deems necessary. And thats why the country is safe from terrorists today although it is fighting multiple wars simultaneously. As for India doing the same kind of security checks, its free to do that. But simply doing this kind of checks to Americans will be nothing but childish act and full of emotional reactions. And therefore India will be more of laughing stock to the entire world. Already with this episode, people all over the world know now that in India, people like SRK, politicians, and even relatives of Politicians like Robert Vadera are not required to go through security checks at airport. Please don't try to publicise anymore this stupid rules of India to the world by enforcing some emotionally charged checks to Americans only.
Rrpt Eww Doll, u almost brought me to tears with that. Looks like you are living in a bubble :D Sorry to pop ur bubble world dude, but u gotta wake up and smell the coffee. If you think SRk is an innocent victim of media frenzy and that this incident got undue attention ONLY because of the media, u are mistaken. This would never have been blown out of proportion if he didnt want it to. I am not saying that he is a bad person. He gives to charity and all that, but that is beside the point. Here he acted stupid, he brought unwarranted attention to himself. And by the way, if Aishwarya Rai or whoever were in the same situation, my response would still be the same. Tired of celebrities thinking they own the world and deserve preferential treatment where ever they go.
Rrpt Eww Excellent post!! How true. Who cares about SRK and his flop movies. Shah Rukh is too full of himself. The whole world is laughing at him. Read all the posts on this page. Instead of gathering sympathy all he has done is attract rage. This is probably another stupid stunt to promote his stupid movie.
Mohit Kumar yeah! what a point u made ! good
people are unnecessarily hyping this for no reason.. srk should have kept silent as this is not a matter of concern ... nobody is above the law for US... and that is what SRK needs to put it in his mind !

I still remember that day when few months back I was hanging around with some of my friends in Rajouri Garden PVR in Delhi....
Security Guard at the checking point frisked me and my friends, but let one man and his family pass the gate without frisking...
I asked him the reason behind this act of his, he said "Sahab, area ka MLA hai."
I asked him if he is ready to take the responsibility if i complaint this act to authorities and is he ready to take the guarantee of this man that he can't plant a bomb there...
Security Guard called the man back and frisked him properly.......
This money and status are the main culprit, We have to show them their real face and let us tell them that they are the common man just like those who were killed in mumbai attacks.

Just notice the way he has changed all his statements in his interview....
This man thinks that he can play with our minds and can get away with that easily...
We have wasted our money on this cheapo, now we are also wasting our time and minds on him..
I stand by USA, because they have lost 7000 countrymen in 9/11 attack, they still feel that pain and want to make sure that same thing doesn't happen again....
We cant compare them with our country where we light candles infront of India Gate and then after 2 months we forget everything and very next year one more attack awaits us...WE ARE GETTING USED TO ALL THIS.
US has rejected to be used to all this.....SECURITY OF ANY NATION IS ABOVE ALL......Respectable Abdul Kalam Azad respected their emotions and i respect him for that...but srk has been proven an ugly stain on the face of our country.....People in US must be laughing at us for all this drama

Does SRK have the guts to take a pledge of not visiting US again?? (Ohh i forgot he changed his statement yesterday......good for Indian ICON)
I think he took a pledge of not attending any matches arranged by BCCI, when BCCI warned him for using matches for the promotion of his movies, when he attended a match with deepika and his son wearing a t-shirt with a logo of his cheap movie om shanti om...
he started crying there to gain same old cheap sympathy from his fans, and took a pledge of not attending any BCCI match...and after some days he owned an IPL team...lolz
We have seen his reality several times and this time again he has shown his real face to us...He tries to be a saint while giving interviews to media and fans, but world knows what kind of person he is.

I am sure that this wasn't the first time that SRK has visited USA....He must have visited USA after every 2-3 months ever since he came in bollywood...
And I am sure that he must have been frisked everytime he checked out from airport, because US police does that with everybody.....Then why this chaos this time only?
Answer is simple.....Upcoming Release of his movie MNIK....but a very cheap tactic I must say.
These kind of people are disgrace for our country who can do anything for their own benefits. Despite of his arrogance, fake attitude and insulting behavior i found him more intelligent then other stars.
But this act has taken away that tag from him now...this act was a display of sheer childishness...may be he has taken Indians forgranted now and thinks that Indians are his stupid blind followers.
he has gotten away with his hypocrite and fake acts to gain sympathy several times before (remember BCCI act), but this time I am sure that he has fallen into a big trap and he deserves this.
I think he is the one who was accusing Emraan Hashmi for creating religious chaos in the country.
I challenge SRK to take a pledge of not going to US again, as he did in the case of BCCI, we all remember what did he do after that.
enough of his tantrums, he is not doing any development in our country, so media should get away from this cheapo

The United States or any of it's Elected Officials does not owe SRK an apology. Not now or in the future. He may be King Khan for all the people in India, but when he is on US soil, he is just an ordinary citizen from India.
Visiting the US is a privilege, not a right. If you can understand that, then you will be able to better understand why we have all these Rules, Regulations and Policy for people to follow upon entering the US. I think most of the people who support SRK and claims that this is Racial Profiling, they do not have a clue of what is Racial Profiling. They should use their little pea brian and break out a Dictionary and look up the meaning. Secondly, there are many better actors than SRK in India. So how did he become a Bollywood Icon? He is an over-rated actor. Some people just dont get it. The US dont need SRK, it's the other way around. He needs the US. So whats up with that?

Seems to me that too many Indian people are giving great importance to Sharuk Khan and his sad story about being delayed at the airport security check point. Indian leaving India enroute to the US must know before they go. Security is a major concern for all the people of the US and also for those visiting the US. If you cannot follow the rules and regulations that are implemented at all Security Checkpoints that are monitored by Security Officials in various capacity. Then you can do yourself and other concerned indioviduals a big favor. Just stay in India for the rest of your natural born life. Shah Ruk Khan is a natural born looser just like his Team. The Calcutta Knight Riders. Loosing is a lifestyle for you and your team. Suck it up and move on. US is not for you SRK. All you want from the US is our Dollars. Are you not satisfied with your Indian Rupees. Get a real life SRK. The US should take your Visa and give it to someone who will use it for something very good. Not just to satisfy your greed. You got that?
Rrpt Eww Danny boy, we meet again and this time you prove urself and your culture. I find it beneath myself to even comment on your post. Go learn English properly first and then make references to people's mothers. You are such a loser and the sad part is, you dont even know it. All I can do is shake my head in pity. You are an epitome of Indian political leadership.
Danny L We all know and we all our 100% sure, You were also born in India. If SRK wants US$ what the hell u are there now for " Charity" . U know screw this topic u are a shame to our country and in reference to SRK being a looser, I just wish your mother reads this comment of your she will feel like a looser to bring such a crap like you into this world.

Hello All, For those irked by SRK's behaviour... Let us take some serious steps on this and do some meaningful stuff. I know most of us dont accept his stuff but definitely sure that this will have some effect on SRK. SRK is making all this fuss is because of us, thinkin that he had plenty of followers who does not bother whether he is right or wrong, know only just to support him. By taking this we can make him realize that we (may be a small group of people) have turned against him. The idea is ...DONT WATCH HIS FORTH COMING MOVIE - KHAN. By doing so it will definitely send an alert to him saying today a very small group of people has stopped seeing his movie and would increase in future. Let us put hands together to do this.. plz suggest...
Rragjav Achar He may have enough money, but still he want to be center of attraction so only. Why did he do pepsi add when the govt of india was planning to impose ban on it? He stood next to it to push it up... do you have any reason danny?
Danny L Actually he does not need such people like u watching his movie and belive me it would not even effect his income, u all need to clean your system up. SRK is much bigger then just creating a contraversy without actual details. He sits next to head of countries so do understand he does not need any publicity. You all should understand there is no smoke without fire.
Rragjav Achar Comments are welcome...

America says it is develop country, where?, America should be consider under-develop Country.
All the American should be BAN from entering to India till American President Barrack Obama give written appology to Shah Rukh Khan and to the INDIAN.
Whoever entered India earlier should be harras so that they leave India at the earliest.
This is not the first time, that America are harrassing Indians, earlier they have harras our EX-PRESIDENT, Mr Abdul Kalam also.

India First i believe in true securlarism, not the pseudo secularism of india where people like afzal guru will perhaps never be hanged because he is a muslim !! or when our PM says muslims have first right to resources...so does it mean i am second in queue?
it is pseudo secularists like you who always want to be politically correct and want to be all inclusive...
but there is a large section of the society that wants to operate exclusively...
do you ever tell them why they think and act this way?
i trash terrorism (of any kind) everytime i find opportunity..and you never trash them because of your secularist view...
you and likes of you are cowards...thats why terrorists enjoy india as a country..they strike at will...and you are mere spectator...i hope america never becomes like india and SRK be stopped 1000 times if needed...if it thats a means to safety so be it...

you are one fucking pseudo secularist with a short term memory because you forget those who have died at their hands..those terrorists will keep killing people around you and you will curse those who raise voices against them...because you do not have balls to speak against them...
if you want peace, go ask them, not me...have balls?

Rrpt Eww Lady, u need to grow up!! Get ur facts right before gibbering nonsense. If SRK was so disgruntled, tell him to stay in India, why is he coming here??? The funny thing is, he is going to keep coming to the US. He is just an average person as far as immigration is concerned, if he wants superstar status and VIP treatment, tell him to stay in Mumbai.
Dilip Lokre
Dilip Kumar - I don't understand why Indian's are targeting American's for a tit-for-tat attitude where as they totally failed to do the same for 26/11 incidence. Come on guys, the 26/11 was a much serious matter. People lost their lives and families got shattered, whereas in SRK incidence no damage was done except the big ego!
Kamal Goyal
SRK is wasting time and is trying to get attention. Media should stop giving him importance. He is a well known star, but he always try to act like he is above the law. The people, media should stop over reacting on this issue. As SRK said he would like not to visit US, I am sure no one will beg him to come and visit US if he choose to. Earlier also on National TV when asked about vegeterian food he said he don' t like Bhindi or Gobhi as it tastes like eating Ghaas- Phoos. Now he is talking about Amar Singh. All this is publicity stunt and if he think he don't need any publicity, he should know that no one was aware of what happened to Abdul Kalam Ji at Delhi Airport in April until July, because he did not want to make it a big deal. He should learn a lesson and stop talking about the US incident at all.

SRK is very immature here and is playing with the media on a publicity stunt. Not only was this fool too arrogant to think that he deserved unique treatment, the Indian ministers too joined in this charade. Dont they have other jobs to do? Will they get down to helping all the Indians facing such treatment anywhere in the world. What about the Indians facing such issues INSIDE India (Indian citizens waiting LONG HOURS in front of Indian government offices to get day to day jobs done). What do these politicians do to help them. What did the Indian embassy do to help the working Indians in the country. I am sure there are lot of problems (even though it may be trivial) to be solved for hardworking Indian citizens.
I did not expect a couple of learned ministers whom I place in high regard to make a fool of themselves in front of the world. I am sure the US Immigration personnel will be laughing loud and making fun of these ministers. Good joke at these politician's expense. Shame on them.
People in the US can do something about it and stop watching this idiot's movies in the US or inviting him anymore to this country. Make him less popular and restrict his drama to just within India, where he is a demigod. !#$@. Lets make this movie a big flop and prove that such cheap stunts dont always pay. SRK can repair this to a very small extent by apologising to the concerned authorities and to the media whom he is using.

I think Indians unnecessarily over reacting with US treatment with Shahruk.Shahrukh is super star in India but in US and west he is nothing.Only Indians know him.
3 times such things happenened with me but I'm not angry I'm happy to see how these white peoples have sense of responsiblity.Security check is for the safety of all the travellers.
Instead Indians should learn how to perform duties instead CHAMCHA GIRI of big names. All r same.

the officer at the Airport has said "SRK's baggage was not arrived in time for this he was waiting and it was a normal check up as we do for all passengers" -- this has now made a big drama and they wanted to ensure that no such incident should happen like 26/11 as in Mumbai , more over they don't know who is SRK ;)

i feel that responding with a tit-for-tat attitude is of no use..and it will make situation more worse... srk detention for few hours should not be taken to the limelight..what about others being detained everyday for long hours... he is a celebrity but when it comes to a security checks..he is not a special person to have everything so easy...
the case of APJ abdul kalam should not be compared with SRK ... at all ! i felt bad for mr kalam but for srk... i think he is creating a unneccesary mess out of it... very bad!

In fact we should learn from the americans instead of complaining. "Nobody is above the Law". Would the reactions in our country would have been the same if this would have happened to a common man. It is time we stop acting like hypocrites and start becoming mature.
Mohit Kumar yeah ...exactly ! people are creating mess out of it .... and srk should have kept silent .. what a shame.. !

Who sits and receives? And Where? Shows complete lack of knowledge of the system and that can happen only if the person comes from Bakistan and our seekoolar yindian takes the rope to tie the calf when he hears a BULL has delivered!!
Hilarious indeed.

To all those who think SRK has been a victim,
Here is an idea. Take morchas on the road and come out in good number. Get a new law passed where your favourite celebs get automatic entry into the parliament and they get diplomatic immunity to go anywhere in the world.
Dont forget to demand that their families and their dance entourage also gets such immunity.
Daler Mahendi would love this idea !!!

Its only we Indians demanding special treatment for VIPs. All Indians know this and that is why they generally look after thenselves and stay out of trouble.. you will not find an Indian journalist conducting clandestine interviews in Rangoon, Tehran or N-Korea.

It is not about SRK but as it was happened with Dr.Kalam and if that is true;certainly i say that do the same with them. Assume if same thing repeated with Mr.Bill Gates or to Mrs.Rise what would be the reaction of America and their prople?

I think we should look at the bigger picture. There are couple of issues involved here. First, India should step up its own security at the airports and all other ports of entry into the country just like Europe and North America and treat all foreigners irrespective of their celebrity status like the way indians are treated abroad. Second ,India should learn to look after the rights of its citizen when they are abroad and the way to do it is enhance the support provided by the Indian missions and make it easily accessible for all citizens.
Shankara Menon
This is a country that treats the son in law of a party president as a VVIP!!! We must have proper rules and regulations and hold up our national diginity and the world should know that we do not take violation of our rules lightly. When that happens things like this stop.
Pankaj Kumar Ukey
One shouldn't take the detention of SRK as a spoiled intention of Americans.. If we assume the news I read about this episode is correct then the american did the right thing. I heard that in airport SRK identified himself as a south asian and when they asked him about the south asian identity, he said south asian includes all indian, pakistani, afgan, middle east people... well the americans already feel suspicious about afgan or pakistani ..it was inevitable to avoid detention after wht SRK said .. instead of saying south asian ,if he introduced himself as a Indian, i don't think tht would make any big problem for him.. .. nyway Aftermath of this incident we should also stringent our security and don't give the special privilege to VIP people whether they are indian or hold any other national identity ..we should check all of them. It is a fact that after 9/11 America tighten up the security and due to that they didn't suffer another attack. We should do the same...... It's mandatory to avoid unwanted terrorist attack.

Shankara Menon I know enough of the army having stayed in Ladakh boder in early 1971 and in East Pakistan in late 1971 till liberation. Of Course my experience of army is as a very patriotic and disciplined force maybe different from yours. I will not say how or why. You will run crying mommeeeeee to the TOI!! We fought with what we had and well without doing many things. If you see bad things it is because your mind maybe bad? We see positive things and slow setting right of wrongs. No self flaggalation not connected to the present issue needed.
Also your understanding of my post shows the shallow thinking. I AM NO FAN OF SRK and if you read that into my words i can only pity your understanding.
I hope my friend knows some country where there is no criminal activity? Ever seen such a place??

I am NOT saying americans were right or wrong in the case of SRK. I understand he went for a show sponsored by, among others, Pakistanis. So maybe they were suspecious. (I had used the another word to describe the sharma charecter. He feels aggrieved. So i changed it)
The author reports the word use as abuse but does not answer what is the worst thing thats happening.

From my point of view and understanding it is simple: The US officials were bound to do their duty irrespective of who SRK was. If we Indians try to abuse or do the same thing to Americans who are coming to India there is no difference between them and us. Think differently people on India.
Shankara Menon I do not think SRK should be treated differently. That is so. But that does not give a right to Ameri Khans to behave as they does. There must be set norms and innocent travellers should not be harassed on any front. Neither in india nor in the US. But that does not mean that we be meek. Remember what happened in Brazil. They reacted and it resulted in changes.
I am more concerned about what happened to Dr. Kalam and for that India should take action.

yes, we should do the same with americans but not due to the reason that srk was detained but because many such incidents have occured in america and by american airline companies like paramount airways.
Mohit Kumar srk detention is hyped by media ... at it is very shameful for him to say that iam a celebrity so i should have shortcuts everywhere... nobody is above law for US..and this is the reason that US has prevented terrerism after sep11 ... dont u think so.. ? and everybody follows security checkups ... so dont respond with a tit -for tat..

They were celebrities to INDIA not to USA. Even SRK is not a person who served the nation, He was an ordinary man when he is visiting USA, how can he expect he was an VIP in USA, for this case expecting an apologize is not an good manner, Even i hope we are wasting time with this hell discussion.

I was wondering why SRK says it took 2 hours while immigration says 66 minutes. I finally found the answer. Moment pilot said they were landing at newark, SRKs clock started ticking.

It is really funny that people in India should make such a big deal about SRK getting questioned. I travel in US on weekly basis from the same airport and I get pulled out for random checking almost every week. I do not have khan in my name nor I am a muslim. I don't mind getting checked. This just shows that they want to be safe than sorry. US was not attacked by terrorists after 09/11 via land or via sea.

SRK 's case has been hyped up for strange reasons. Let's respect the fact that they are extremely cautious post 9/11 and to our amazement no untoward events have happened on the US soil post 9/11. That's US for all of us to see. Coming to the question of should we do the same with Americans visiting India - Not americans, do the check for everybody if you want the Indian soil to be safe and secure. One should not forget that Indians need US the most rather than US citizens needing India. They come to India for tourism, business promotion, IT and BPO businesses.

We should change our thinking first. For no reason we treat our actors like god and actresses like godesses which they never deserve. They are expecting the VIP treatment and they get in India everywhere. I do not see any harm in questing him if they found something doubtful.
Question for all the readers, How do you expect and American Guard to recognize him even when India a significant perecentage of people do not know him.
If our goverment feel these people are so important, they should communicate to those contry these guys are travelling well in advance.
Other bad thing I see that, we say these fellows are God. Guys, YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND GOD BEFORE WRITE SUCH BIG WORDS. God can not save India, we should save.

Ok, Now I have a different point of view. I was born and raised in India, but I have been living in Los Angeles for 15 years. The problem is, in India film stars are treated as God . Even the press splash is all over with head lines giving it utmost importance. Tell me, just because he is Shah Rukh Khan, the media and Indian public go nuts about his being questioned for two hours. I am a die hard Shah Rukh Khan fan but lets all face the reality. If an American actor is questioned in India for two hours, no one would give a damn..... Can you imagine American Media splashing it across the nation in headline news..... like Angelina Jolie questioned at Indian airport for two hours....it is beyond imagination.
I love my country so much, but with a vast population and the media making Shah Rukh Khan questioning such a big news and dwell on it for days....... our thought process needs to be augmented. I hope we all think in a constructive manner and do something collectively for constructive purpose.
By the way, Shah Rukh .....if you reading this I am a big fan of yours, you are so lucky that you got away within two hours..... they detained me for 5 hours at the Miami airport for absolutely no reason and I am not a Muslim. I envy you, your detention is splashed in headlines all over India..... One thing.... there is no doubt that you have achieved the status of God and the media go nuts about you. I am not being sarcastic, but you do control India, and no way you are a normal person in India.
About our ex president, its absolutely the fault of the Indian government. How come our country does not have something like Secret Service in America. If we had, the agents would arrive well in advance and swamp the entire airport and get everyone on high alert and get the whole continental staff geared up to greet the president and give him the respect he deserves. The whole fault is of the Indian Government that they do not do the needful and when something happens, and blame it on Continental and America
Remind you, this all happened in India, so just imagine what kind of cover he had.

SRK was just questioned - not detained. Even if he was detained, what's the big deal? Every country has a right to protect itself and if Indian security agencies find any American (or any foreigner for that matter) suspicious, they should detain him/her as well (but non unnecessarily though).
There are hundreds of thousands of Indians fly back and forth between the two countries and I know that only a few are questioned or detained for further inquiry .
Mr. Khan himself has must've traveled dozens of time to USA before - what's the big deal if he got stopped once.

I would prefer to hear a comment or reaction from the people who were detained like SRK or Mr. Prez. What they think of it and Why it happened and The Way it happened, before I draw any conclusions.
I trust there should not be any compromise whenever it comes to a country's security concerns. A thorough verification without any damn influence is a must and I would like to believe, that is what was done at USA port without a prejudice.
Whether India should do the same with Americans or Indians or of any other origin? Answer should be YES!

It's not that the this is the first case happened with any Indian , don't go far back , just recently (not exactly but ....) it happened with our former prez which is a real shame for any Indian . This is so much typical of Indians. The crab mentality. When anything happens to an Indian, the first thing we do is blame the Indian itself. Why do we Indians regard ourselves so lowly compared to an American or an Australian. Do we still have this being coloured, inferiority complex.
Whereas in developed countries anything that happens to a white is so strongly opposed. I think it is time for Indians to think of Indians in unity. Rather than blaming the Indian for every problem that arises. The reason being that such a problem could and will affect you at some point in your life. In this case being disrespected at the airport security or in another case being attacked by a white man in Australa.

Navin D Bhasker, Going by your previous comments it looks like you are a person living in America, oblivious of Indian ethos. If you think America is so righteous even after all the atrocities committed by it to other countries than you can stick your smelly a#@e inside of US and never come out of that place. Where was American equality when they went to Iraq looking for oil in the name of freedom to Iraqis, or for that matter bullying even India for NPT when they have loaded their country with nuclear weapons, wars with USSR, vietnam, Iran, and now China . Dont give your corrupt equality lessons to anyone cuz they stink of a skunk. BTW my comment was about the Indian crab mentality not the slave mentality. I think someone really needs to grow up here.
Bhasker Singh Slave mentality is not about praising others, its about yearning to enslave others once one become powerful. People with slave mentality have no concept of equality .... they either #$%@ others or gets #$%@ed by others ........ Noone has supported white man attacking indians in Australia .... what do we do now blame all white people ? what abt british girl raped in India ......... Will we feel ok if Brits blamed all indians for that. Grow up dude ... If we want to clean the world ..... it has to start from your, my and our house.

if not anything else this should serve as a lesson for our corrupt officials in India who flock for celebrities and give them royal treatment when passing through immigration check. Look it is simple there was doubt and they asked SRK to wait in a detention room. He might have been 10th or what ever person in the list of the people there. So they would have come in order. Just because he is SRK his number does not go from 10th to 1st... it does not work that way.

Anybody entering a foreign country is subject to such formalities. In his case it may be a little bit longer which is purely is due to safety conscious officer on duty. SRK must not even discuss this issue at all if he feels he was insulted beacuse it indicates as if he is trying to show his pompous. I do not think if there is any way a foreigner can escape being questioned other than getting a special tag (if allowed by USA) or traveling by his own charter plane. I am a muslim and have Khan name and I never complained of such incidences. The more you talk or give explanation, the more rediciulus it is becomming. The media should also forget this issue completely for the sake of SRK image

It is highly immature to even talk on such trivial issue.SRK is not above the law in USA same as in India no body should be above the law. You have full right to question a foreigner if required. If SRK feels being treated unduly he should either stop going there or get a special visa and a charter plane to travel to USA, then probably he can escape custom check. Otheriws if you traveling with common man, he should be ready to similar treatment.

SRK baby let me tell you one thing that no one knows you in US other than some indians . Beauty of this country is no one is above or below the law of this land.I salute those officers who interrogated the idiot like you. However at the same time I feel very sorry for Mr Kalam for being such a highly educated scientest and head of country who did"nt make that big issue because he could understand that this is the part of security of all US citizen ,so you moron SRK do not be a cry baby grow up and discover the world otherwise you will end up in Guantamo bay with your other friends.
Saurabh Tripathi
this is a cheap publicity stunt by a guy who always tries to demean India and Indians by talking about his fans in Pakistan and Bangladesh, we still dont have enough courage to speak against it, afterall India and Pakistan are not friends and it hurts after what has been going on in India to hear all that from a person who has got so much from India.
India First
I wrote this post to someone and i am reiterating it here. Here is what typically happens at the airport during secondary checks. when you are sent to a room, you are in a queue. If many people came into that room before SRK, it will obviously take time. And this queue can vary from 1 person to 100 people depending on how many flights arrive at the same time. My personal experience has varied from 5 minutes to 2 hours when I used my advanced parole to enter the country while my green card processing was underway.
Ofcouse, SRK was expecting that he would be put right in front of the queue as if it was india.

If India sees a security threat from American people then they should do whatever is needed to protect their land.

I guess if the celebs are frisked or questioned it is ok.When our presidents and prime ministers are inspected too much ,its an issue..Rather than cribbing about security procedures in other countries we should make it stringent and streamlined in our country..And what are we indians cribbing about religious profiling,we are the champions in it..And yes all you NRI's stop praising your fatherland for which u left your motherland..

SRK is making a big fuss of this. Cmon guys...SRK has visited US a dozen times and this happend to him the first time. So why is he making a big deal of it. When I go to INdia I'm constantly stopped by those cigratte puffing, tambaku eating immigration offeres and harassed for 2 hours...That doesnt stop me from going back to the nation I love. SRK should stop making a big deal of this and grow up and behave like a noble star similar to how Abdul Kalams reaction was for the dumb way Continental Airlines behaved with him. It may be a muslim thing but guys..this country was struck and they have to be careful. Its a shame but the fact is the US needs to protect themselves. And yeah they made a mistake but wh doesnt. But reacting the way SRK is is stupid and dumb.

I dont understand why there is a big discussion on this topic, just because it was done with SRK. I am sure had it been another Khan there would have been no such noises. There are other important topics which needs to be taken care of
Still if you guys want a discussion then the truth is that:
Even if we decide any such thing against Americans, we will not be able to implement that. Doesn't matter people agree or not but US is giving bread and butter to most of the industrial sectors in India.

does any of you guys know about the US standards? They do not treat anyone special if it comes to their security issues. That is why US have solid base and so much comfort level within them. We just can not go ahead and do some emotional stuff. I think we should do the same only when our system is upto US standards, security wise, politics wise, people wise.

First things first. Bollywood is nothing to USA. Where as we people in India encourage Hollywood movies. Shakrukh, Aamir or Rajinikanth - these people's popularity ends with the people of South Asian Origin. They are common people to USA. The officials in US airport may also knew nothing about our superstars.
Whereas we people in India knew their Brad Pitts and Angelinas ans treat them as superstars.

Coming to the topic, USA has full rights to detain anyone whom they find suspicious. Please remember, it is their country, their "well formulated" rules , so if anyone has issues, stay home else travel in your own country.
By the way what about a recent incidence in Bihar where students torched up the Air conditioned bogies when they were forcibly trying to sit without a valid ticket.I wonder whether they are people or animals. Here in USA even a dogs obeys all the rules.
So Mr/Miss/Mrs Chawla, please think before you leap.
Long live USA!!

Most countries, be it US, UK or any other nations have there own set of protocols, especially for US after 9/11 and it is their sole right to question each and everyone before allowing him to enter.Hey, they don't care who sio Shahrukh or ex-prez Kalam. They are doing their jobs and following rules.
So as Mr Abhijit, plz shut your bad mouth as Mayank jaiswal said.Do whatever you want in your or to be precise in our country, follow rules else face the wrath
Guyz and tell me if this were to happen in Saudi Arabia, imagine what would have happened, forget arguing, we are not allowed to look or talk to any women.

For security of a country and its people, I don't think going that extra mile and double checking anybody is wrong. Had SRK been a gentleman enough, he wouldn't have raised this issue in the first place. And this when it happened in USA where I would say except for the Asian/South Asian diaspora and few of their friends wouldn't even care for who he is. Look at what happened with Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam at Delhi airport? Now even if it was continental airlines but the staff employed is still Indian(nobody brings staff from their country for on-ground operations), and if they had the audacity to frisk Ex-prez of India on Indian soil, who the hell SRK thinks he is???? Dr.Kalam had the dignity to not make an issue of it, but petty politics eventually got over it, though it happened months after the incident occured. For that matter, SRK's bodyguard never lets anyone even come closer to him or talk to him unless when media is around(then he is all goody goody guy), then why the hell is SRK creating such a ruckus over security procedures of the other country? I go to USA every year and I don't complain. Its not about any religion, its just that USA cares for the safety of its citizens and property, unlike India where we commoners are like ants and the damn so-called VVIPs/VIPs think they are superior to us(filmstars/cricketers etc etc etc). I have seen at airports in India where how all these S*** people are taken ahead of the others and made to clear security check. And here we stand in lines for hours together risking to miss our flight. This very culture has to change. So what happened to SRK should be a reality check for him and others of his clan that they are like one of us and that money can't buy you privilege all the time. I am happy it actually happened, but SRK is leaving no chance to use it for his own publicity. I say do frisk everyone in our country. Make our security tighter, it doesn't matter whether one is a commoner or a VIP, security should always be above all these. When it comes to security of the nation, its people, nobody is above law. If someone creates a scene then put it straight to them that its the procedure! This is the only way to handle security of our country!
Rragjav Achar Really very much impressed :) In India persons like this are considered to be an exception and can cross any limit and any type of security. This is really a public stunt to promote his new movie KHAN. Since the pepsi add i have stopped backing SRK.

I think it all concern about the USA Internal security that no one can be allowed without security check , some of cases , I agree with that because if common for alll even of famous icon. As i remembered ,couple of month ago one Pakistan cricketer Asif bring drugs with him and caught by Dubai airport security team. so i think we can not trust on anyone even if it is SRK or any of bollywood actors. but it really shame for Indian internal security. if same thing happened in Indian Airport then definite Indian security team can leave him without check....
Abhijit Ghosh
Is this a question to be asked?....ofcourse we must detain Americans for at least 4-5 hours and keep them in a non-A/C room under sweltering heat to dehydrate their entrails. There is no reason to believe that Americans cannot be terrorists. In fact looking back Americans have committed the single largest act of terror in human history - remember Hiroshima, Nagasaki? And I am not even talking about the countless coups that they have engineered in other countries with democracies just because the elected person turned out not to be a leader of their choice.
Amar Dhamdhere Your thoughts are that of a minor. Grow up and get real. Do not profile people on race a religion but profile people based on what they are wanting to do. US is NOT India's enemey here....Look around you and then talk abut who you want to and don't want to detain.
Joseph Mascarenhas excellent reply. currently the U.S. is the only country waging war in two other countries, one war for 8 yrs, the other for 6 years!
Mayank Jaiswal Mr Abhijit,

Ajay Kumar I am totally agree with your points. Every country has a right to make secure and safe country not like India where we face special privilege to actor/leader/b'z man/officers uncle/family/friends.
Now, after this incident all actors from other region will ask same privilege. So, be ready for bohjpuri/telgu/tamil/kerla/kasmiri/gujrati and of course how can we forget Marathi

Mani Ganesh its right from the American border security protection point of view. For them every visitor is a stranger to their country. To safe guard their country they need to check the list of names which reflects on their system whose names are under banned list. Its Khans bad luck if his name was reflected.
The same routine is carried out on all other visitors arriving into the USA. Why hasnt anyone taken that up so far ?
SRK is not special, he is also a common man like others. He does not carry a red passport.
World renowned person like Dr Abdul Kalam was checked in India by Continental Airlines . He was silent about the security measures and was infact happy to see the security check was done for every one to make it safe.
When things go wrong because of the ignorance, there are human lifes at stake and no point in regretting that the security measures should've been taken.

YES. But we must first start with muslims. they terrorised india for 1,500 years, vandalised temples, desecrated idols, changed all holy palce names to bads, converted hoards of gullible hindus by force and greed, took away large chunk of land. So first punish these people. then, let us talk of tit-for-tat to USA. As long as pseudo secular enemies are ruling India , media will pamper minorities. Let SRK go to malaysia and gulf countries where millions of indians including muslims are denied basic civil liberties of even praying to a god of choice and preach them secualrism. then let him make abig noise in india. what a shame. media is one sided. it blows all small muslim problems to mountains and belittles all hindu problems as though they are nothing.
A huge civil war is due to eliminate enemies from within

Rrpt Eww Fine how about this, let all hindus stay in India as well. Kick out all hindus from the US and other countries and throw them back in India. Deny entry of hindus into the US. How abt that?? Western christian missionaries work with the poor in India only to be humiliated, killed or burnt alive.
Rahul Raj you are right Mr.Narayanan, I agree with u. We have made so many muslims to reach iconic status but they never strongly oppose and talk against when muslim terrorists killed so many innocents in the country so I hate this bloody idiotes, they use the underworld influence as well to grow up.

I cannot believe we have encouraged such a discussion. America's response is not based on prejudice, but security of the nation and the individuals who carry out these orders don't know who is SRK - who is SRK anyway - just a popular actor, is a national hero ? - what if this situation was faced by a common man, say some Salim Khan from Mumbra, would there then be such a issue and support for him?
I think the Yanks are proactive and doing what they can to insure security of their people - they have faced 9-11 if you remember - unlike the indian govt, which is always reactive.
What did our govt do to prevent the IA flight hijack - if such a protocol was in place would that have happened? Mumbai 26/11, what about that - was the cost guard napping - I mean people are taking boat rides for Pak not mud-island and in fact it was the same route used to smuggle drugs into India for years- to the loss of the industry, just that one less way to get drugs into the country... as Indians we always learn from sacrifices of the brave - look at our history - this time it was the top brass of mumbai police.
Instead of placing pressure of America, we need to learn form this example and place pressure on our internal security for similar levels of scrutiny - not ask for apologies from a nation who takes the responsibility of security seriously.

SRK had two choices in that given situation. ONe not to speak anything and ask for his Legal team or Lawyer and if that request is declined, he should stop answering any more questions and tell the Immigration that he will catch next flight to India. That would be enough for Immigration to know who is he and the buck stops there. If any top American leader or icons come to India, we will never ever do any such thing because we willingly ignore this incident or some TOP official will instruct to do so. The US PR will avoid such mishaps when needed in India.

I do not know why every one is making a big fuss of this matter. If I were in his place, I have two choices - a ) Not to answer any questions except through his own Lawyer if they permit. If they do not permit, just tell the US Immigration that he will catch next flight to India instead of facing barrage of questions and answers. That should have brought an end to this fiasco. Basically it appears some sort of provocation and exchange of statements might have taken place from both sides. I know for sure, India can not and will not do this any US top official because we are Indians and easily forget our humiliated treatment at that time or under pressure from TOP we ignore to do away such indecent treatment.

There is no need to highlight this issue, as the concept of so called racial profiling, started soon after post 9-11. As a part of sprucing up its own security and tougher ways to screen passengers, particularly from a particular religion, came into force. They have their security procedures in place, but we don't have, we should be tougher with foreigners, as you never know, from where terrror guys can land in. It could be even from USA, or UK, Australia, so you have to screen each and every passenger, without looking at, whether he belongs to US or Ethiopia, or UK or Vietnam. Treat everyone equal , from security point of view.
Jahangir Khan
What's the problem with security checks ? No one is above security clearances ? Who is Shahrukh Khan ? Is he Mother Teresa or Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam ? What is his contribution to the nation? He is just an artist. They got used to luxuries in India and expect things to happen within few seconds all over the world.
Let us not target any nationality or community to have similar checks in India just to harass people. If India does this for internal security in screening anybody irrespective of their nationality, community, fame etc, it will be a welcome decision
Why is media blowing up the matter. There are hundreds of people who go thru the same in USA, why media not taking out this issues then? Please do not waste time on this stupid issue.

One should not forget that during the interrogation he first told that he is invited to an south asian function not the independence day function. Is he ashamed of being indian? Just for the sake of money he can travel anywhere or he can dance in any xyz wedding party. Cheep publicity
Ashley Peters but then why does our govt give special priviledges to their national, when their movie stars or artists come we dnt even subject them to any security checks
Saravana Kumar Raj..
Guys stop this nonsense issue and put interest on ur daily routine...If any of your mate died in 9/11 attack....Just think and act....for security what happened is correct and if Sharukh khan spent 2 hours in security risk wont let our country down...If u waste ur time on this bull shits, it will waste ur valuble time...instead keen on ur national development and prosperity.....If America take the companies from India, India will be on the edge..and think about the Indians in US...Neither he went for any National Oriented Task nor for the Wellness of Indians in US. He went to promote his movie and to earn for himself...Think and act guys....Wish to have a reply .....

For the benefit of all morons, jackass, dullheads who considers themselves to be SRK fans and support him ! Please read and compare SRK to others -
This is not the first time an Indian celebrity was the victim of racial profiling in US or elsewhere in the world. Here's a list of those who have gone through similar ordeal.
2002: Kamal Hassan was detained at the Toronto airport in Canada for his "Islamic" last name by airport officials.
2002: Megastar Aamir Khan was strip searched and interrogated at the Chicago airport.
2008: Film director Kabir Khan was also detained at least three times last year when he was shooting in the United States for his film New York.
2008: Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh was also questioned because the officials thought that he wasn't Indian.
2009: Southern superstar Mammooty was detained because his name on the passport was Muhammad Kutty Ismail.

Recently when Shahrukh Khan was detained by American security then media make it a big issue. SRK is also a human being so all those laws which are applicable to common human being are should be applying on him also. SRK should appreciate American security who doing his job without fear of cost.
In our country also security should be tight. There same security law should be apply with celebrity also. Recently when old President Abdul Kamal checked by the airport security officer then also Media made it a big issue.
There are too many celebrities in the world so it’s not necessary all security persons recognize celebrities.

When it comes to SECURITY...one must applaud the US efforts and success in managing its borders specially at Port of entries at Airports. There is NO second 9/11 so far in last 8 years. Long live US Security System. SRK should also appreciate it and so as Indian media.
Gautam Jha
Its ok as far as their law and if they think that it require some further checking. It hardly matters who the person is at that time...it can be anyone. But it is not acceptable that you detained someone just because his surname is KHAN.
Rahul Kumar
being an indian one must respect the laws. laws are same and equal for everyone. and if he's a star then why he used a phone to prove his identity? why dont he shows who he is?
and even if SRK wuld b at the offficer place n the orders are to check him wat the Global Icon wil do? thats a duty sir u must understand this

Bhasker Singh I really appreciate your view. Its the people what makes the country great. Even after country being at war, any iraqi can walk freely here in US, but we can't even imagine otherway around. Thats why US is a great nation. Looking at the menality of our people, I feel sorry to say we won't reach anywhere even after 100 yrs with this mentality. My last post . its not worth wasting time in unnecesary issues.
Kiran Kini
It is an hype given to this SRK issue...though no one raised bars when our ex president Abdul kalam was frisked. Also he accepted graciously. why is SRK issue hyped....though the US people feel their national security above all else. We are not thinking their way...its our foolishness & not bothered about our national interest.
SRK is only an entertainer & nothing above else....so we must stop giving hype & talking Tit for Tat about this issue. We couldn't solve our own national issues in our country & we are talking about these petty issues...WHAT A WASTE...!!!

Mr Mia, How come its GROSS violation ...... its not even violation ........ did they CAVITY searched him ? US constitution protects Americans, not foreigners who look like Mohammed Atta. If I were to travel I would be pissed off if they lapse security measures to someone who look like me ........... You know what who I am scared of most when I am flying ....... another passenger who look like me .
Hamza Ahmed
Hamza: Americans should be shameful of that act......they hav e to think about this seriously otherwise a time will come and these americans will cry in front of indians for everything....as india is becoming advance and advance from day to day and every second it is showing a bigger change.........If got the chance to harass americans anywhere they meet us we should definitely not leave and take the ball out of their mouth.........
Kiran Kini
It is shame for us as Indian's that we are giving so much hype for SRK...he is just an entertainer & not much more than that. If our ex president is frisked giving security reasons, its their right to protect their nation above all else. If we are not like them....not worried about our national security...it is our big fault or foolishness. Also the ministers who are comming to rescue SRK are also fooling themselves or taking advantage of this hype. Though no one is thinking big about our national interest....we are scratching our heads on this petty issue.....WHAT A WASTE..!!!
Bhasker Singh
nobody knows SRK in US except desi community. well SRK ........ ur cheap publicity act paid off ......... I am not gonna spend a penny in your movies from now onwards ...... and even better u not come here to shake ur skinny butt and make $$$
India First which institute? indian institute of filim management?
India First actually here is the news for you...my sister lives in new york city in her million dollar home, she is VP in a large IT company...and guess what? she is never stopped when she enters US..but your god SRK has to go thru this test...what an irony...
maybe you should lend your womenfolk to SRK on airforce1 for easy entry into US !!!
BTW she once saw karan johar and SRK walking in central park. their gaurds stopped them from walking where these two celeb-kids were..when they said they dont care who they were and it was a public park with access to everyone, gaurds had to back off....this can never happen in your celeb-slavish india where public parks will even become their private property...
you need to step out of india and learn the way of life of other countries...

Security Measures should be standard for all
americans coming to india and indians going to america after all its the matter of security of the country and its not necessary that all imigration officers should know all the celebrties in the world

SRK himself is not demanding an apology. Why is the media so bothered. SRK is human and all human laws apply to him also. Why are you not concerned with thousands of other Indians screened at the us airports. Get back to work and stop this nonsense.
Pradip Bhattacharj..
Another Publicity Stunt By this Old Witty Fox for "My Name is Khan". These movie stars can go up to any level. He has nothing new left in his kitty to deliver to the public. He just wants that the tickets of his movies should sell...

Shahrukh Khan should grow up! Please dont carry your hill-top egos everywhere! Who is he anyway when it comes to the National Security of a Country like US. And was he on a government mission, NO!!! He just went there to earn some more money !!! Thats All. Shahrukh, Shame on YOU, man for making this such an huge issue. Grow up mama's boy!!!
Bhasker Singh
how pathetic can we be ? many of us agree that we should tighten securuty on our side to americans travelling to India .......... why ??? any reason to fear with them ??? have they carried any terrorist act in our country ??? ............. on other side americans have a reason to take such measure ....... all the terrorists looked like us ... thats bitter but true ......... I get checked everytime I travel .... I don't mind ...u know why coz I feel safe, atleast I can be sure that some crazy terrorist who look like ME won't be able to penetrate that security line. ........ Now why should we treat americans as they treat foreigners especially us who look like terrorist (we can't deny). ...... to get revenge ?? that shows how inferior our mentality is ........ people stay is US and whine how US is bad ....... US doesnot ask you to stay .......... we are getting much more that what US is getting out of US ..... many of us cheat on taxes, don't employ americans in our business and talk shit abt americans well thats whats called jis thali mein khana usi mein chedna ..... and we are good at it ........... .. had any chinese looking or white or black had attacked our country ........ we would have taken the same step or may be worst treatment ...... but our bad luck pakis look just like us ..... ask muslims in kashmir how terrorised they are of our own military if you want to know about racial profiling
Dee Malhotra
Did 10 Americans come to India and kill more than 3000 people on its soil ? Did 10 Americans shake the very roots of the country that stood ever so proudly? If yes then Yes Americans should also be subject to profiling. Seriously - do you really blame Americans after 9/11 ?They are just being cautious. They have the right to.
Danny Cool
Hi Kiran: India is weak, I know that. But India cannot become strong by protests. It needs to have strong terror laws and a strong responce to terror strikes. Till date, India has not responded to any strikes. Indians get beaten up in Australia, what has India done in response? India gets blown away in 26/11, what has it done in responce?
Samit Kumar
Should we do the same with American? You mean detain? Are you kidding? The moment you do all these american company will go to Phillipines, china not inida. Learn from chinese. Keep quite and do buinsess.
Danny Cool India is in no position to responce to USA. India can't even respond to Bangladeshi strikes, how will it match USA??
Danny Cool
2 Hour detention is normal. Also, USA has a tough terror protocol, and not a loose one like India. No wonder there were no attacks in USA post 9/11, but in India, there is a terror attack every now and then. I think India needs to learn from USA here, and not otherwise. SRK is acting like a crybaby for nothing

What rubbish ! what’s the big deal here if he is detained for 2hrs for questioning. Customs are doing their job
I recall, Sylvester Stallone being detained by customs at Sydney airport for carrying some illegal stuff (i.e Happened a couple of years back, not sure when). He was wrong, but yes, customs had him for questioning and were not bothered of his celebrity status. They were just doing their job.
He was detained at the airport for questioning and later allowed to leave.
Now don’t tell me in terms of popularity SRK has a higher fan following than Stallone. If Rocky Balboa or his fans did not make a issue of the incident then I fail to understand why these idiotic, maroon SRK fans and himself complaining.

I don't think a tit for tat response would be right but detaining Shahrukh Khan was unnecessary. We cannot be expected to blindly comply with security procedures of another country if they amount to harassment. Those wannabes who think it is fashionable to bash Shah Rukh Khan must be asked to go through the same ordeal!

There are lots of Indians which undergoes through such kind of interrogation.
But nobody from India will stand for them.
Ruckus created by Sharukh is unreasonable.
Any action against America or apology from America will only assure fair treatment for Sharukh and not for all Indians.

It not about an actor or anybody. What US did might be right acoording to their law and security but i think its high time. India should also stand as a strong nation. We also have equal security laws. So why dont we do the same with all outsiders who enter our counrty???
Bhasker Singh u know what u need ........ ajadu ki jhappi ....... why so much hatred ...... they are just doing their job ..... u ask muslims in US ...... how safe they feel here than in their own country. ......... I personally know many afgans and iraqis who have filed political asylum here. Strength is not shown by bullying the powerless ........ in the present scenario if US was to act as a bully ..... she can invade any country in the world and turn it into pile of ashes. That was just a security measure ...and we are whining abt it .... have u ever travelled via gulf ..... t ....... if not do once ........ u will know what humiliation actually is .....

In a country where millions die of starvation everyday, where corrupt, uneducated, worthless politicians loot the country, where citizens are not even guaranteed their basic civil rights, all you can talk about is one actor inconveniently held for 2 hrs. There must have been good reason for it. Who do you think Shah Rukh is???? He is only famous in India, a small fish in the big ocean. Stop wasting ur time and go get a life losers!!!
India First human rights? what about the human rights of those 3000 people killed in WTC? they do not even have the right to speak up for themselves because they are dead !!!
Bablu Mia The point that the people are trying to emphasize on here is the gross violation of human rights that are enshrined in the US constitution and protected by the US constitutional laws. Here he is a victim. His human rights have been violated by those US officials. People are missing the boat here by deviating from the real issue. Nothing to do with Shahruk or with his upcoming movie " my name is khan"

First of all I would like to ask media that u dont have better subject than this Idiotic stuff?
You are making people to waste their time by discussing about this cheap idiot. Stop doing publicity on these scoundrals. He is accusing like a kid, he should have known that no one is bigger than the law of a country. Its shame to read these topics

This is pitty thinking, hey common guys grow up, we need to learn and implement this in our country too, its not because some country did for somebody, take this as a possitive sign and move in that direction.
Kiran Sharma Agree with you totally! It was not with an Actor or a Khan. It was with a person and that's it. In India we just go for position and fame and that is the reason so many rich , famous people just do the unlawfull things. We have to learn how to do our duty and how to keep out country safe.

“A RESIDUE OF ANGER AND HATRED FOR THE MUSLIMS IN AMERICA.” --
A Residue of anger and hatred for Muslims in general stemmed from 9/11, engineered by the Jews for the most part to win over their all illegal actions against Palestine and the Palestinians, has been prevailing in the US Governments and in its Public service places. There is a saying, ‘Good prevails over Evil ’. In this case ‘Evil prevails over Good’ in American current government and some public service systems of which the Jews are unfairly and unjustly in total control. Many a time as if it were customary to American government systems or to public service places, their deliberate wide practice of showing anger and hatred using the vehicle of racial profiling of American born or foreign born Muslims, American Blacks or Asian Americans is in contravention of the US Constitutional law for equal citizens-rights and privileges, that frequently experienced by a large number of those Americans in their own country while they are handled by Governments’ service departments, Government service agents’ , Governments bureaucrats’ etc., or sometimes they are victimized by their own public service systems along the same lines. Even the greater number of American citizens is appalled by America's institutional racisms, discriminations, denial to citizens’ constitutional equal rights, and are now mobilizing support and resources nationwide to defend their constitutional rights and trying to eliminate all forms of racisms from their country; the Jews are still unilaterally materializing their illegal agenda on American soil by subverting the American principle ‘Justice for all’.
According to CNN reports, every two out of three Americans believe that 9/11 was masterminded and brought on by Israeli Secret Service with an aid of American Jews. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to find that out. Go on line and use google search on 9/11 Investigation, a wealth of information about it is available on the internet now. September eleven attacks on twin towers, Killing Princess Diana, war between Iraq and America at the cost of American precious lives, Riots by French immigrants in Paris, French objections to wearing Burkas or Hijabs, Uproars over a Caricature of Prophet Mohammed in Europe, bomb explosions in India and Pakistan, attacks on Sri Lankan cricketers were masterminded by the Israeli Secret Service and American Jews for Israel’s interests. People in general, across the world have taken the view that Israel and American Jews are committed to their vicious political philosophies and principles that they must set Americans along with the rest of the world against the Muslims by whatever it takes. 9/11 was a product of those vicious political principles. The existing phenomena, modern science and technology also strongly indicate that, but unfortunately the Muslims are stigmatized for that horrendous crime instead. Israel, the Jews in America, and the Jews in other countries including Canada are sworn on the principle that they must create the everlasting hostility and mistrust between the Americans and the Muslims in the extreme which in return will help them perpetrating their strategic vicious agenda against Palestine. For examples: opening many new doors for them to control the US Congresspersons in their favour against Palestinians, to manipulate and control American Military and use them against the Muslim nations, to control American business, trade and finance power, to control and use US government power, easy access to free American money and wealth etc. They believe that having been able to create such deep animosity between the US and the Muslim worlds including American Muslims is the greatest success of all they ever have done.
Recent events by the Newark US Airport Immigration, New Jersey, Continental US Airlines involving a renowned and respectable Indian film superstar Mr. Shahruk Khan, and a former Indian President Abdul Kalam again represent the level of audacity in violating the law of the equal human rights in America just for complying with the Jewish Political Agenda that secretly incorporated into American Public and Government service systems without the consent of the majority of American citizens.
Now dear readers, I am giving you a conflicting principle in regards to the current event. Can we use this principle in other social dynamics?
According to the American news media, Government and public information statistics, analysis, research etc., the American Blacks and Hispanics ratios of involving in thefts, robberies, shopliftings, etc. are far more than any other single ethnic group or community in America. So, can we adopt a similar policy to treat Blacks and Hispanics differently using the same type of macanism - racial profiling when they go to shop at the malls, department stores, convenience stores and the like?
The funny thing about this particular event is that “Mr. Khan was released from the Newark Immigration detention or interrogation hold-up after an intervention made by the Indian Embassy in America. Why he was detained? Because he was targeted for his support against the zionism by working in the movie ''my name is khan'' and the US customs and border officials prepared well ahead of time to detain Mr. Khan before he got on that plane. No routine check took place. His name did not come up on the computer screen flashing all of a sudden, it was done deliberately. Ask yourself , why did it take to bring in Embassy officials for his release? What would have happened if the Embassy had failed to intervene? And if it were an ordinary Muslim fellow, his life would have been in hell by now.
The best way to deal with American humiliating and hostile foreign or domestic Policies is to adopt the same or counter hostile policies toward its all citizens including high government officials, diplomats by all Asian, Middle Eastern and South American Countries. All Americans must be treated as potential threats to World peace by aiding Israel to commit crimes against humanities and also be subject to arrest by any country for its country's war crimes against Iraq. Every American must need a visa to enter any of those countries for any purpose of visit.
Below are the News excerpts:
The 44-year-old performer has acted in more than 70 films and is in the U.S. to promote his latest release, My Name is Khan — a joint venture between 20th Century Fox and Star India, about an Indian Muslim who sets out on a journey across the U.S.
In 2005, Khan was honored with one of India's highest civilian accolades, the Padma Shri. Two years later, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London installed a life-size statue and the French government decorated him with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of the Arts and Literature).

Sure! But they wont create such rukus as they respect rules and regulations unlike indians who are obsessed with hero-worshipping and sense of entitlement!
1.Indian media is making too much out of it! In fact, if anything, it should have been embarrassed about APJ Kalam’s incident, not this one.
2.SRK is now saying that he doesn’t want apology AFTER the US officials here have already said that everything was done in accordance with rules and regulations, and after SRK and his groupies have already created enough nonsense (good publicity I suppose).
3.SRK is only an actor or in his own words, “a glorified bhaand,” so why does he expect everyone to know him or worse do away with rules for him? He’s famous among South-Asians, and in the Gulf region. He may have other fan following but not to the point where everyone would recognize him on the streets!
4.The delay was due to delay in baggage not what SRK has been suggesting about paranoia!
5.SRK cribbed that the poor he could only make one phone call! Guess what, that’s the rule!
6.Those complaining about Islamophobia need to become more vocal about Islamic terrorism. Most terrorists attacks around the world are carried out by Muslims, and in turn the so called “moderates” and “secularists” in India only try to justify it or say that these are not “real” Muslims! Why don’t they have the guts to come out and say that terrorism is wrong? They will be able to do that, if they get over the “victim” mindset.
7.Since 9/11 there hasn’t been a single terrorist attack in the US! That is what India needs to learn. When it comes to national security US does NOT compromise with anything for anyone! While Indians are used to having multiple attacks every year and still dont learn!
8.Indian celebrities have a sense of entitlement! SRK's contention that in England he is "escorted" to his car from airport shows what bubble he exists in!!!! Get real!!!
9. And of course, Indian politicians and media are happy to just play the minority-victim card! For instance, media created such mountain over the Emran Hashmi incident, but totally forgot to cover the news with the same zeal when Hashmi said that he was NOT a victim of religious profiling! Why didn’t the media go after him for making such senseless and dangerous statements?
10.The bottom line is that the room for common sense and professionalism has been shrinking in India, and fast being replaced by mediocrity, fluff, and sensationalism!

US is following the norms set for its internal security and it applies to all irrespective of their status. if indian govt wants to implement these kind of measures they can do that and that should apply irrespective of individual status.
Every year 1000's of software/BPO consultants are pulled aside for second evaluation and that is part of their life. If indian govt treats every citizen as same then it should start making the same hue and cry with US Govt on daily basis.
Dis respect to Dr.Kalam in india is a different issue. It is more of US company not obeying rules of the land.

It is ridiculous how media in India are making big deal out of nothing! Yes, check all American evangelists at airport! You can kick American evangelists (who convert gullible poor people) from the airport itself! But, has anyone any guts to do it? Why is Khan making a big deal of it. Everyone gets checked at the airport. They are only doing their job. What is the big deal here...Why is this fellow any different?
Baishakh Mishra
SRK case was no big deal. APJ Abdul Kalam was a big deal. India don't need to discriminate anyone because of this issue at any airport. But they need look into infiltration from china, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

2 Hour detention is normal. Also, USA has a tough terror protocol, and not a loose one like India. No wonder there were no attacks in USA post 9/11, but in India, there is a terror attack every now and then. I think India needs to learn from USA here, and not otherwise.
Pradip Jansari
I beleive it is right of AMERICA or Any country to ask question to visitor and we should understand all attacker on 9/11 or 26/11 are Muslim-all educated. If SRK has some proud then he shoul;dswear not to visit USA..
Kamal Lalwani
I am not really sure if I should feel sorry for Mr. Khan or have even more respect for Mr. Kalam (more than I already have for him), I think I will go with the latter. I don't think we should do the same to Americans.
We all should understand that some Muslims created havoc in America and now they are paranoid (which they should be) and since Mr. Khan is a Muslim (which I am sure he is proud to be) he will be subject to such things, and by going thru' this and not making a big fuss about it he can actually be a role model for others. My respect to all the law abiding Muslims even though a big fuss has been made about this it will not change anything, you will all still be subject to this and how gracefully you keep enduring it will make the difference.

we can not compare the two incidents that is those happened with shahrukh khan and kalam sir. We were not able to prevent the humiliation of Mr. kalam in our own country from the American Airlines.Compared to that the humiliation of an Indian Actor in country like America is nothing. The thing is why only Asian and African people have to bear these humiliation from the western countries. the answer is simple they are racist and they don't trust any of us.If we start doing the same then it would be really a brave decision

I think Indian TV news channel are run out of stories, I don’t understand why we are make such a big deal about it on other hand Indian security agency should learn this them,

Shahrukh is just doing cheap publicity for his forthcoming movie and its very clear. Frisking and secondary inspecteion happens for everyone irrespective of their religion or status. Its a shame that we are criticzing America cos they value the life of their people. We are still waiting for next 26/11 to strike us and i dont think it will be hard for terrorist to do it again. Please dont idolize this filmstars, outside the movies they are very ordinary people just like you and me....

I am absolutely outraged about how Shah Rukh behaved. On Independence day, instead of remembering the millions who sacrificed for us, all the websites and TV channels were showing about this rich spoilt brat delayed by an hour.
If Abdul kalaam can follow rules, why the hell can't he? and one more thing.. Shah Rukh is not an international figure. Agree that some Americans know him.. but he is famous world wide only to the Indians.. not to the other country folks.
If he gets detained, the Indian consulate vouches for him. WHAT ABOUT ME???? and millions of others who are detained every day. Nobody from the Indian consulate is going to vouch for us. This shows what an idiot in power (over the people) can do.
He has just shamed the rest of the law abiding Indians citizens around the world.

hellow all,
when ill treatment of celebs and politions take place by these people, think how the comman man is suffering as well. We dont want revenge,we cant fall to their level, but they should know that this kind of treatment is uncalled for and not forgiveable. When you can't respect our icons, how will you respect us?

Yogesh Gaonkar I dont think filmstar are doing too much good work for country or local people. They are just making money out of it using any tactics then it may be bad /cheap publicity...no one care for normal man...... and after all its just 1hr which normal for securty check in.... If u hate this dont travel to US to fill your bank account with Dollers..... rather he should be in India to celebrate Independence Day ....... Mr. Khan is trying to get much more media attraction for his Movie name "My name is khan"....... Shame...shame....
Rragjav Achar When a person like Mr Abdul Kalam is accepting, why not he? I would have appreciated your if u had come forward when Mr Kalam was went through similar stuff. And why are we expecting high respect for media entertainers? Plz stoping giving scope for them ( filmi stars). Tell me why did he support pepsi when it was banned from the govt for having more percentage of pesticide? Does he regularly drinks pepsi? Is that really a good suppliment? they need money and popularity for which they are ready to anything... plz think Farida :)

What has happened to SRK is not an issue at all, which needs to be discussed in such a group. It is a total waste of time for people who write and also people who read through this posts.
It is real shame for Government of India and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that his cabinnet colleagues P Chidrambram and Ambika Soni making a comment in the press supporting SRK. Also, our civil aviation minster has said that he will take up the matter with highest authorities in US. Where were all these people, when similar incident happned to our greatest son of India, Sri Abdul Kalam was treated like this and that too right in our country. Not even a single cabinet minster spoke about it. It is real shame and this is reason why our country is being led by a foreign born lady and we simply accept it without raising our head.. Real shame.

Although it was shocking, all of this boils down to two people. SRK and the employee of US CBP. You want to know why US is not apologizing, because it is not US who stopped SRK, It is that one person, working on the other side of the Port of Entry counter. Now lets say we ask this one guy to apologize to SRK, will he do it? he won't, and this is because he will say he was merely doing his duty. Will he loose his job, because of this incident, no way. This won't effect him in any way, because he was simply following the rule of law.
Hence it is neither US govt's fault to have procedures to safeguard their borders or the CBP officer's fault for enforcing those procedures.
Then who is at fault, I will tell you who, How about the Custom's officer working any of our India's port of entry. These are the only guys who can change this behavior, because India too have very nice security procedures in place, problem with these are the Custom's Officers responsible for enforcing these laws are too busy trying to do what they are told to do, rather than, doing the job they were hired for i.e., to use their own mind. They fear if they harass any foreign national, they fear they will get fired, but the guy working in Newark, don't have that fear, because he knows he is just doing his duty.
So unless our Custom's Officers in India's major port of entries, adopt the simple and reasonable motto "Simply doing my duty". We will never have any reform.
And all the apologies whether we get it or not, they never matter anyways, if it doesn't lead to "FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE IN HUMAN BEHAVIOR".
By the way, I wish I was there with SRK, in time of his need, there were nobody for him. (66 mins), SHEER PAIN.

SRK’s detention in new jersey for 2 hours, makes the bollywood fume with anger .
But when the ex president of our country is frisked through the airport, no protests from any where no hue n cry. Cool it, Mr. Khan it happens “bade bade sahareo main aise choti choti baatein hoti hai ji”

Rragjav Achar Hi Farida, its is not Muslim or other community. If you take out the terror list almost every one is from ironically muslims!!! And they never carried the plate saying we are Terrorist so they suspect each and every person enter their country. Dont say that its happening only for muslim, every one entering their country is being checked irrespective of their religion.
Farida H B very truely said VKK, but here its not about Kalam or SRK , its about being an Indian and the fact that they feel that all muslims are suspects. We have personal experiance in this matter. They do not even give a visa to go to their country and the way they treat you, can make you go red to the hair.
Vijay Tewani
I think whatever US Authority did is right b/c they treat all the Visitor the same way , so don't care if your a super star or a politican, its not India, as per as i have experince Newark airport Immigration is very good & all the officers are very polite, i just had a visit a week ago, so i think its lot to with our Super star, they think they are above the Law but I am sorry it doesn't work in US...SORRY FOR SRK.....Its not a big issue....it hapeens all over the world

America is too advance country.there security measures are different.I think SRK fairly treated,

VIP's gets mistreated overseas. Indian travelling overseas are "step-children" for the Govt of India. (one cant get moolah from that way!)
Think, if a VIP (not only Khan, kalam, G Fernandes and many more) are being subjected to humiliating treatment, then its begger's belief a commoner traveller is treated well.
Someone said this ahs to do with attitude of many countires towards people from India and asian countires travelling.
Remember Paris airport mistreatment of so many common Indian passengers? Out Hon Govt didnt even seek formal apology from France. Now, for the similar episode, China has cancelled the License to Operate for Air france in China. Then Chinese Min has to go over to China with formal apology letter. In Indian case, what happened?
May be some sweet words from MEA and some "kabooters" flwon in friendly message of peace!!
And yes you have to travel overseas to understand the depth of the issue raised here, just forget the person or religion, it doesnt matters.

Yes.. we should do the same with everybody i.e. security is the top priority (irrespective of class and status). Shouldn't we have the same level of security which US have. They don't say not to check Brad Pitt when he is entering your country :).I think the immigration officer did the right thing which is to make sure people of his country are safe. SRK just had to spend 66 more minutes. Shame on us who are thinking SRK 66 minutes are more important then the security of a nation and people.

why is a big issue made out of this, security checking is normal and is done when on any person irrespective of him being a celebrity or normal man. more over he's popular in India doesnt mean whole world should know him.

Well,is our Govt.Strong Enough to do that.t's not. Many NRI's facing many problems at the International Airports outside India.
Dare to do with any American,UK,Australian ,Canadian citizens.Their Embassy will swing into action in Seconds and the matter will be solved without wasting a minute.
Indian Govt.needs to be strong with necessary guidelines. It's not possible due to internal fighting within politicians who are uneducated and selectd on reservations etc who are unable to understand the International community and behaviour.Indian's will suffer due to above reasons.

At airports,Not only Americans but search everyone who enters our country. Its hard to believe that those guys did not know who SRK was but they beasically just want to harrass him in the name of security. To be very frank,Newark is one of worst airports in US dominated by almost all black employees.but there is one lesson to learn here,WHen it comes to the security of your country,do not spare anyone,be it Brad Pitt or Angelina or any FBI agent..I would like to see our airport staff doing their duty to the fullest towards everyne instead of showing of showing their non professional or even sometimes insulting behaviour only to Desis.
Personally I am hurt with SRK incident but as he himself said, lets not stretch it further and lets tighten our own security ...Jai Ho...

I 'd like to frisk Angelina Jolie: SRK
I don't think that the majority of Indians would like to have this type of global icon. We Indians respect ladies. It is in our blood to respect ladies and forgive the person who has done anything wrong. The authority in US has lerarned from their mistake, which they don't want to repeat at any cost. They have performed their duty well. We should learn from them. Moreover he should apologise form Angelina Jolie for his remarks. The authority in US has performed their duty well.

India First bowing to ones country of birth or adopted country is a matter of pride. but you bow to SRK and other actors and actresses. What a shame...
India First dude, if you do not like their way, dont go there...but if you choose to go there, then go by their rules..US is not india, free for all...people do anything and they walk away with accountability...it is the officer who decides if paperwork is right or not, no body else. and it seems srk said he is going to a south asian event and south asia is pakistan/afghanistan. what do you think one should do? put a garland around his neck and touch his feet, like any indian would do to him. indians like you stoop so low to these celebs that i pity them.
India First what makes you think its not SRKs real wish that was, as per you, presented as humour? He seems like your role model, go lick his ass clean when he returns to bombay.
India First thanks for highlighting this fact about srk...what if brad pitt wanted to frisk his wife???

I think we should look into the fact in terms of India and Indian citizen. We should not be divided. We all know that Indians are treated badly in the western airports - does not matter whether its London or New York. Earlier they used to do it with a perception that poor Indians trying to sneak into their countries and now they do in the name of security. The truth is that Indians are treated badly because our Government allowed the western world to do this. Now India is more powerful and has a position in the world. Indian Govt should make sure its citizens are treated fairly abroad.
Let us not mix up religion to this event to divide our power. Let me give another example: The indians, irrespective of their religion, are abused in Middle east. Indian Govt did not do any thing to solve this problem for decades. Because these poor worker class from Middle east were sending money back to India and the Govt was more interested in the money than the dignity of Indian citizens. SRK's case has open our eyes because he is VIP and media made it public. Let us take this opportunity and make sure that our Govt takes some step.
I can give you may examples that religion is not the main issue but the India as whole. I know the director of premier research institute of India did not get visa to attend meeting in USA. He was not muslim.
SRK might have been detained for his muslim name but mainly because he looks Indians and thats the truth. We should not be divided as Indian but be united to think about the situation and make our fair judgement so we as Indian be treated fairly in the world.
Question is whether we should treat Americans the same way?
Keeping in mind our tradition and culture, we should be softer; but if we have to answer this "politically right" then the answer should be "YES" we should do the same to teach America that Indians should be treated with respect.

Rragjav Achar I certainly agree to your point. But my point of concern was, when the same was happened with Mr. Abdul Kalam, our honorable president, why the public did not respond? The youths in India are driven by film starts. some like SRK, some Amir and some Amitabh. What they have dont to this country and the world -- just made money to have luxurious life. They are reel starts not real. When Mr Abdul Kalam feels it as right, why not he? Why dont we accept the same? When our indians were suffering this he (sharukh) did not respond and when it comes to him he want to bring it to the public. The same actor who supported pepsi when it was banned by the court for having more pesticide content. He stepped down to promote it and think was successful. Was he not concerned abt his fans? was he not concerned abt his acts? Dont he know that his followers will drink the slow poison? When he can think like this why no we? Where is the point to support? Why you expect us to support a person who is self centered?

Ego of high profile Indians gets deflated when they are checked at US POE. Why because they are used to out of turn pampering back in India. Whatever happened to SRK is fine with me .This is just a normal procedure here in US. If any Indian inflated with high ego feels this is wrong . They are welcome not to come to USA.Yes the rules are common for each indvidual here unlike in India when Paan chewing pot bellied poltician is treated as a VVIP. I think Indian common people will take this as an oppurtunity and ask for their rights. Just stop giving these people VIP status at police stations and airports . They will be all fine when they land at US or any other airport in the west. The US Customs and Immigration has done a fine job in screening the people.I wish their Indian counter parts will learn a lesson.

yaah we may do the same with american or any other foriegner but ony if doing that can assure us that there will not be any terror attacks for another 8 yrs following that detention .... SRK is playing childish or may be too cunning.
Dhirendra Singh
I am still at a loss to understand why so much fuss is being created about the treatment SRK got at Newark Airport? Doesn't it happen to most of the people travelling to US, particularly with all Muslims. And who is stopping us to detain Americans and search them? They have a system and that system works. In India, the system exists on paper and and is applied on those who do not have clout. People like SRKs and Vadras are not subject to such treatment here. When shall we get out of such personality fixation and grow up?

Its nothing to do with the last name whenever a guy with brown skin and if he got little beard
they will take a marker and mark u with orange marker but american's are marked blue.
It happened to me, it happens to each and every Indian or Asian who ever is in america.
There are some set of rules here in america no matter what they will be followed. they don't care even your are are X PM or X President.

I'd like to frisk Angelina Jolie: SRK
I think SRK is not a Global icon. We Indian respect ladies. That is in our blood to give respect to ladies whether they are Indians or foreigners. I think SRK is very much interested in Angelina Jolie and wants to frisk particular this lady. It's a shame. How he can be global icon of Indians. We don't want to have that kind of Indian global icons. He should appology for what he has said against Angelina Jolie. The US has performed its duty well. We should learn from them.

U.S was most terrified after such a devastating 9-11 attack on their soil by well planned terrorist attack which they never even dreamt. Whether it is a celebrity or professor or even a common man, the treatment is the same with strong suspicion lately. That attack still echoes like nuclear explosion for decades for sure. I still wonder when some school kids asked me if i was from pakistan or muslim when i was on a evening jog one day. Suscipicion & alert is very high.
Anil Constantine M..
Look at our ex-President. Even he was subject to similar treatment and he never complained. Now that's a REAL HERO! Not a reel hero. Are you listening SRK?
Anil Constantine M..
Please tell SRK to stop whinning. All he got was taste of how it feels to be his character in 'My name is Khan' I wish he'd just act at least half the man he portrays on screen. Look at our Ex-President! Even he was subjected to similar humiliation and we all came to know about it only after a few months! Now, that's a real hero! Not a reel hero.
Keshav Magge
If doing same is in the interest of our country, then surely do. Frisk anyone. Frisking people coming into our country just to return what was done to Shah rukh proves no point. People who think they are THE CELEBRITIES/VIPS OF THE WORLD need to get such reality check time and again

Guys, not to worry Americans did exactly what the procedures had asked them to. Unlike Indians, they don't have brains to think and act. I was also harassed many times, and am sure many others must have faced the same.... so guys no to worry, SRK this happens in this part of the world. take it easy
India First your post does not even deserve a response...i have started regarding you as a mental degenerate
India First denying him was a right thing..he needs to talk and act more responsibly as he did in the case of sobhauddin case..
suffice to say SRK is not my hero and will never be until he does my challenge task or similar..
got it kid?

India First ok, so that was your question...modi has not been convicted by any court of law so the answer is, i do not agree with the denial, legally speaking..
however, i do have reservations against the person..not because of the gujarat riots (they were reaction to godhra where 56 people were burnt alive)...my reservation is due to the fact that he made a filthy statement in the sohbrauddin case....please read about this case and what he said during election campaign...
you will love me for this answer, wont you?

India First have you heard about the battle of mogadishu in somalia after which black hawk down movie is made. the same warlord general aidid, who US was trying to capture escaped and he became countries president. And the same soldiers who went to capture him had to salute to him.
modi getting rejected for visa was due to hard lobbying by various interest groups. if he does become PM of India one day, he will be vindicated and will get diplomatic immunity to go anywhere in the world.
So worry not for you will not be shamed.

India First and you find time here to talk about profiling...
India First you were harassed (or you felt so) because bad people from your community have perpetrated horrible crimes..if you are a really good muslim, you will understand the apprehensions we all feel and respect it...when did you last speak out against a terror attack?
India First
here is a challenge task for SRK...he is an icon, he is a muslim...go to pakistan and free Sarabjit. The day you accomplish this or something similar, i will listen to what he says. Until then, he is just a hip shaking movie star..
India First no you do not know the rules, hence you are carrying on your banter.
basic principles of humanity coming from you? how about child labor, female infanticide in our dear country to name a few? Ever given thought to it than worry about a few muslims caught in crossfire that you call profiling?
Why should every passenger be pulled up for secondary checkup? Its not a scalable model to prevent terrorism. Why should every white christian or a brown hindu be pulled up when probability of that person being involved in terrorism is 0.0000001%? Yes, if there are too many hindu terrorists causing trouble in america, even i could be stopped.
Does it answer your question????
go do what you do best. watch movies that match your mental level. you are a misfit here.

India First ok so let me enlighten you as to why secondary check takes more time. when you are sent to a room, you are in a queue. If many people came into that room before SRK, it will obviously take time. And this queue can vary from 1 person to 100 people depending on how many flights arrive at the same time. My personal experience has varied from 5 minutes to 2 hours when I used my advanced parole to enter the country while my green card processing was underway.
This is not india, sir, where the rich and famous can jump queues!!
And by the way, phones are strictly prohibited.
US is a great leveller when it comes to following rules. You could be nobody or somebody but rules are same.
Famous indians do not like it this way, do they? They are so used to special treatment.

India First Your basic level of intelligence is so low that you cannot see reason in my posts. Where did I say I hate him? I didnt use the hate word at all in my posts. He and you do not understand the simple fact that while he is above law in india (yes, he is), same is not in US. So any small actions in US obvious deflates his ego. And hence we read such things.
India First Cool India, this is not about me. This is about your human god SRK who you worship. Your god SRK has money, power and an iconic status. So, why not take up sarabjit's case? What social mission did he undertake? please remind me? Just donating out of his millions is nothing. If he is a real hero, then he need to come off the screen and do something real heroic.
India First you think its outside SRK's realm of existence? or he is incapable of doing it? whats the use of his iconic status?
Hoysala Hoysala wat a sense of humour u have boss! great! keep going! ........ plz get mature!
Tulasi Dhama
I think doing the same r not to the americans is dfferent question but one's countrie's rule should be respected and that is more important. After all who is shahrukh khan just an ordinary celebrity in India and to Indians abroad not like Micheal jackson the king of pop.Anybody who enters the country should oblige and respect that countrie's rules and regulations not act foolish.i think shahrukh khan has to think about that first..People here in America are doing their duty and showing their professionalism just the way he does his job in his movies which is his profession. So hey shah rukh if u could read my message anywhere out do think that u r no god man !!!!!just chill do not make a big issue out of it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Try to respect others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mirza R Baig
MRB Guys Americans knows how to follow the rules as written in the guidelines or books, they never use their brains as other nationalities do. So do not take it serious, its happened to me also... but whats the use, and it keeps continuing, just forget it
India First finally you said one thing that i cannot trash you on..brain drain. lets hope there is enough entrepreneurial support from govt here that we can all come back and bring india on the top of the world through innovation.
about porn, havent you watched soft porn in SRK movies where item girls show their underpants, belly and bras. You are talking like a saint.
If people like to discredit others on innovation, sure, they better read koran in the desert. or watch soft indian porn on big screen.

Aziz Rehman American are known for not using their brains?
Most of the NASA or any other scientific projects are the results of hard work of people from India or China. I think US Home land security should hire Indians or chinese to fix the bug in their computer that any SRK is not a terrorist. For example they can check DoB or image match. I am sure they will hire Satyam or other firms when the recession is over and they have some money to improve and fix the bugs in the computer. Forgive these ignorant people for some time.

The next time you ride in a car, fly in a plane, watch TV, go to a movie, use the internet, talk on your cell phone, vaccinate your kids or dream of walking on the moon, please think of Americans. You're daily life would be vastly different without them.

These are the times we live in. The unfortunate fact is that these things do happen and will happen again, too. SRK was inconvenienced, that's true. What I don't agree with is the immediate accusations of SRK and other prominent Indians that the incident was without doubt, malevolent. Surely, India understands the need for vigilance and diligence in matters of national security. What does not help the matter is crowds on SRK fans acting as Third World buffoons, burning American flags in public. Hasn't the US proven its commitment to India many times in the past and recently via military and nuclear deals? Don’t millions of Indian nationals live comfortable lives in the US? Don’t millions of Indian nationals attend US universities? And the US is better because of it.
I suspect that SRK's ego was the real casualty. After all, by his own admission, he wasn't treated as a 'state guest' by US officials. Get a firm hold SRK you're an actor with an out of check ego, which is hardly distinguishing. Get over it

Aziz Rehman US made nuclear deal with india for money because it needs money. India would do it by herself; may be it would take some more time. Millions of indian do have good life in USA but the US gets more from these smart indians. If US closes it border today for all foreigner. It will be drowned in few years time from World politics. Accept the fact.

I have read on this forum that muslims have been profiled..havent muslims have called it upon themselves??? 100% of terrorism is perpetrated by them..so if you are a non-muslim, you get death, if you are a muslim, you get profiled...which one is better??
Dinesh Jangla
lets be realistic and honest to ourselves. No country in the world can dictate terms to US. what the officer did was follow the rule and I beieive that even their ex-vice president Al Gore is frisking when he travels by commercial plane. why would a celebrity from India be exempted from the rule. US has been the safest country after 9/11. lets me mature
India First
To all those who are abusing US, let me tell you. When I last entered US on my green card, the officer said "Welcome Home". How about that?
Rrpt Eww 'Cool Indian', anything but cool. Cant seem to notice that u cant type an entire sentence without 'ass' in it. Dude, take ur fetishes elsewhere.
India First come, you could use words even worse than these...traitors are worse than those raiders...and there are traitors amongsts us..like it or not...
India First sorry, not 200 years...800 years..just incase you thought i was referring to british..i was referring to the muslim marauders, killers and raiders
India First yes its right out of your SRK thriller.
do you know saddam hussain had 6 look alikes...same with osama
when it comes to security, you take no chances so even if it means SRK being pulled up, so be it.
indians will never learn thats why raiders 200 years back and raiders of today will keep attacking...

go look up definition of terrorism and then we will talk.

India First all 1.2 billion people do not travel to US, do they? so to answer your dumb question, no i do not think all of them of potential terrorists. Some of my best friends are muslims and i employ muslims too.
However, those who do show up at the doorstep need to be scrutinized carefully. Madmen can show up in any form, shape and size. You cannot even trust women and children. In iraq, terrorists have wrapped up innocent (muslim) children in bomb and exploded them.
Call it collateral damage to the muslim community but thats the fact.
BTW, can u name a hindu terrorist, please.

And even if it means its your human god SRK. I have not seen a muslim ever who has good or bad branded on his forehead. have you?
India First Another interesting one...upon entry to US once, I called my daughter by nickname and officer caught me..he questioned me why i called her by a name different from whats on the passport. Now can you believe their professionalism? What if I was taking a child illegaly into the country. Indian customs are no where in such professionalism. And people here want to stop americans in response. I pity your thinking
Geeta Pai
I think it was right from the American security perspective. This is not something that has happened with SRK only, it has happened to many. Just because he is a celeb it does not mean that he can expect any special treatment infact if SRK had not made such an issue out of this and had respected it I would have appreciated him. To the US government, he still remains a Visitor... so to me it's fair enough from US security that they detained him...
Rragjav Achar HI geet, I echo your comment. What we see in the news is just an act to gain the sympathy. I would have appreciated if he had taken up this when the same had happened with Mr Abdul Kalam. Mr Kalam was an perfect gentle man he took it in right spirit.
Kh Apollo
As everyone knows that there is no VIP culture in US. Sending Mr. Khan for secondary screening is not a big news in America. It's only exagerated in India and made a special column in newspaper!!! Wow! It's not that US, but it's India that is shameful, a country where everyone wants to be treated as VIP. Remember laws are for everyone.
India First try throwing shoe at a policeman in india and you will find out what third degree is.
Andsonii Anand remember when some jounalist throws shoe on george bush that journalist got beaten very badly by police in iraq. if laws are same for everyone why that man beaten so badly i.e because he throws the shoe on president of united state.

yes, we should do the same with these americans. Our honorable ex-president abdul kalaam was insulted by continental airlines and there was no apology from bloody US people. We should do tit for tat. Any american citizen arriving in india should be harrassed by India citizen. that should be our revolution.
Srk Fan
yes, we should do the same. We do not want any apology. we should do tit for tat. Our honorable president Abdul kalaam was insulted by continental airlines and there was no apology from bloody US people. We should just fuck up these US citizens when they come to india.
Rragjav Achar
Wat a shame to the country... When highest respected person Abdul Kalamji is quite, he is making nonsense. Wat a loss to the country!!! Who is shah rukh and who gave him super star title, himself? no we. When everybody is questioned, why not he? Why he needs the exception? What is his contribution to the world, nothing? Yes he does some good stuff on scene so he should be exceptional when a great person like abdul kalam is oaky with it. I really regret for abdul kalam not shah rukh. When a girl in the next door is not treated like sister, why a super star in one nation should be exception? And for them, the county men are their biggest asset -- appreciate for their ideology. Tell us how many times did the terrors strike back in US after September attack and how many times in India every year?
Rragjav Achar India First, No volgar words pls.... If you think you are correct prove it rather using volgar words.
Cool India, Did u mean that when it comes to country security highly profile like him should be an exception? No matter wat ever it is they should be given clean chit? I think so only the Salman was set free when he was jailed for Hit and Run case... Great Indians !!!!!!! Hats off brother.. :)
Hey cool, one more.... If he so good why did he promote the Pespi when the govt was planning impose ban on it for having more percentage of pesticide? please need asnwer for htis bro... :)

India First so? even sanjay dutt is liked by millions? do you lick his ass too?
Rragjav Achar HI COOL, looks like u have short temper :) better go through complete stuff and if u have any doubts please brother.... I took Azar and jadeja as an example of great personality doing wrong stuff. To tell that every one in this world is after money and can do anythin for it. I am not suspecting SRK but echoing wat the US has done. And we are not against Mr Abdul Kalamji, no where in the blog i used his name without respect - please check sir. We were irked by the this talk has gone. When Mr Abdul went throgh the same nobody raised their voice, ironically it happened in indian soil. Mr Abdul Kalam's was even wrost...
Rragjav Achar Hi Cool, looks like you are star struck. What was your opinion on Sanjay Dutt before and after he caught? Another example, Azar and Jadeja. During Azar's tenure he was backed by every indian and worshiped as we do for sachin. What happened later? both Ajay and Azar involved in max fixing -- dont forget brother. Every known and unknown personality is after money. Tell us why did Shahrukh support Pepsi when the govt of indian was planning to impose ban on it for having more percentage of pesticide? Is it because he loves his fans? this clearly shows ur reel hero's personality. Why not to stop him for security reason?
India First BTW if u didnt understand my post, i am completely against kalam frisking but if SRK has to be detained for 10 hours, so be it..but you seem so star struck that you feel bad for SRK but not as much for kalam....pity you
India First cool indian, now you are sugar coating, arent you? you said kalam was "only frisked"...readers will themselves decide who is an idiot here...
Esha Rathod very true, because he thinks he is bigger than anyone around and is the king of bollywood and the world
India First Cool Indian, your priorities are misplaced, just like milions of other indians...the fact that you think Kalam was JUST frisked but SRK was questioned for 66 minutes tells it all. I suggest you google and read about Kalam's achievements. Well, they might seem trivial to you anyway when compared with your nachene wala bhaand human god who thinks the world is at his feet...
Rahul Raj Well Said my friend, I agree with u
Rragjav Achar Hey cool, U talking as if you know him better. let us take some live examples, AZAR was a great hero in cricket, did he not involve in match fixing? wat about ajay jadeja? Cant he spare 2 hours with the security? Is he that busy when it comes to countrymen security ? Terrorist can move their stuff through such great actors thinkin that US wont check their babbage... wat do u say on this?
Rragjav Achar When Sanjay was in court alsmost whole nation ( except me) were praying for his release, even after knowing the fact. At the same time least bothered abt the kargil hearos.... It some times irks me... R u not stupid indians.. stupid followers... WE have fan club for each and every actor in the industry. Tell us howmany such fans club are their for the the great real heros?
Rragjav Achar Indians are known for not following the rules -- india the rules are made to break. Forget about the intruders just think about the person who caught alive, what actions has been taken against them? Even we have evidence we are doing nothing. How many times did salman come out with clean chit? In India the rules varies person to person. If the culprit is big figure, sure he will be out withought small punishment. Even the public goes blind and start praying, supporting and fighting for their so called heroes, who were caught in action. In US its not the case, when it comes to security of their countrymen they won’t spare their leaders / film stars. The best example would be the old unsolved cases. Even today they open the unsolved cases and try to do the justice for the victim. Now tell us, how many such cases are solved in india? How many cases do the normal men has won against main personalities?

M St Thank you for this post!
Agree that some Americans know him.. but he is famous world wide only to the Indians.. not to the other country folk. I hope SRK reads this thread.

India First you are so right...infact comparing president kalam with SRK would be elevating SRKs status and denigrating the president...
Rragjav Achar Even I too felt the same. Whatever the stars done till today is just for money and publicity nothing else. For example, sharrukh supported when pepsi was in downtime. When the court banned it for having more percentage of pesticide content, shahrukh was the only person to come forward to promote it. Why did he not think about his fans health? Is it money that mattered? -- Ironically, no one knows.
If he was a real nice guy, he should have opposed when it happened with Mr. Abdul Kalam and others. But he remained silent. When he became the prey he started playing as if he was the only person on the earth to undergo such trauma.
I really hate Film and Cricket. They are capitalizing youth on this and making money out of them.

India First i have been itching to find a forum to write my views and finally i found one today. i am hoping that posts from me, you and many like minded people will instill some sense into these brain dead star struck people here...
Rragjav Achar You comments are straight forward but by doing so you may not get them on the track. Let us make them to rethink on these issues and accept our views.
Say if shahrukh goes through this, he will think that these flocks are with him and he will try to make it even bigger. My intension is to make such person rethink before doing this kind of stuff in the future. Only way to do like this is by getting those flock to think like us and make such persons feel as if they are just another guy who does acting on the screen.

India First well put...these filmy guys have walked away with murder...salman khan, sanjay dutt, raj kumar to name a few..and they become youth icons...
Rragjav Achar It’s really painful to see our young Indians were driven by the actors’ rather real heroes, who lost their life in battles to give us freedom and save us from terrors. When It comes to cinema we do all nakras watch it but when it comes to august 15th uff…. No one bothers. It passes off as if another holiday. I pity those fighters who lost their life to give us the freedom.
Just any passerby to list out the bollywood actor and actress... Sure they won’t miss even one... If we ask them to do the same for real heroes – sure the list will be less than number of fingers they have in their hands.

India First I wish I could find a more politically correct word. You sugar coat it in anyway but context will not change.
Rragjav Achar I can understand your anguish but should not have used "ass licking" word bro... We are Indian and we should respect each other's view. The blog here is to throw some light on the issues and to help get other out of the dark. Let us put this in right way. My intension is to get others on the track so that it will have some weightage.
India First These folks here are ass licking star struck. Even if it happens to Sanjay dutt, they will come out with same voice.
Rragjav Achar HI Rakesh, Tell us how many terrorist were reported from other community? Sorry to say this... US keeping tab on every US entering person who is from different country. They are worried about their countrymen safety n least bothered about others. They don’t want their country man to pay for it again. And when it comes to rules they strictly follow it irrespective of personality. What image did u had on Sanjay Dutt before he caught? Tell me how many times did the terrorists strike back after September attack? Even after humiliating the Terrorists they did nothing in turn. What did we do? Just think brother. Compare what did they do after September attack and what we are doing after serial attacks happening in India every year?
Hope this will answer your question.
Hope this will answer your question.
India First also, just because system is not perfect, do u let every damn person enter without any checks???? it can only happen in india...
India First Its an evolving system. Sure, muslims could fake themselves as hindus but I am confident US govt can trace his history properly one day. Until then, collateral damage to muslims. After all their brethren are creating all this havoc.
Kapil Koshti well done rakesh mehra good point...... i can say what if any terrorist has name barak obama or george bush ........
so US will not interogate them ........
so US will not interogate them ........
Rakesh Mehra Agree. So the US has a faulty system. They should be screening everyone. What if a terrorist enters their country with the name Subash Chandra Bose? Or say, Rajnath Singh?
India First
All those who are with SRK on this are insane to say the least. Who is Shah Rukh Khan? Just an actor. Does it give him immunity just because he is popular? Havent we learnt anything from Sanjay Dutt? What if some terrorist sitting in Pakistan tries to enter US using SRK name? Just get over it and let US customs do their job. I live in New Jersey and we depend on these law enforcement officers for our safety and I dont care if SRK is detained for 2 hours or 2 days. He unfortunately belongs to a community that has caused enough damage to the world in the form of terrorism and so why complain if rest of the world is jittery? What Global icon? US has a population of 300 million out of which there are 5-8 million asians. Do you think the remaining 295 million people care? Even Al Gore and Bob Dylan have been made to go through security checks so who the hell is SRK? He is better off in india where star struck indians can kiss his ass and touch his feet. Shame on Indians who are asking US to apologize.
Rrpt Eww I am sure that living as an Indian in America, you are sure of your rights being protected than living in India as an Indian. In India u get involved with the police/judiciary, its not who is in the right that matters, but how much money/influence u have.
India First I am an Indian-American because I have lived there for 15 years and I know how much they value life. My name is Rajiv. Yes, i am fine with racial profiling and I dont mind being stopped myself if it helps me be safe and secure. And you people in India with short term memory will keep getting killed at the hands of these muslim terrorists.
Rakesh Mehra You seem to be an American using the identity 'India' to make it sound as if an Indian is talking. That's why you seem to be fine with the racial profiling that people from the subcontinent face in general. My friend was denied a visa since his name resembled that of a terrorist. He was taken to a separate room for questioning for 5 hours in the US consulate. Reason was his name. Now only if terrorists had a specific set of names they always used to cause terror.
Ramana Kumar
Now since SRK is detained this practice came into light...We in the US know about many cases where families coming back from vacation have been sent back..just saying that we are taking off some of the american jobs. What about all that...I understand SRK is a global icon...but think of a family which has all the belongings, house etc in the US and are suddenly denied entry...shouldn't we not do anything about this

India First then why are self respecting people going to america. just stay home
Rakesh Mehra And that's exactly the point. Many people from a certain faith, inspite of being US citizens, have been detained for questioning, multiple times. SRK being detained, has just given this issue a face. All these days, normal people were being frisked and tortured in the name of security. Did anyone stand up? No, because they were no-one in the public eye. Hopefully, with this issue getting a lot of media space due to the fact that an international celebrity is involved, things will atleast improve for the better.
Rakesh Mehra
Every person entering India should be screened for 2 hours. And so should every person entering US. Let not the screening be based on the religion or name. And folks who believe the US' lame excuse of detaining someone because the baggage was missing, when was the last time a passenger was detained because the luggage was missing. It is all hogwash. Folks who think this is a publicity stunt, I wish they are detained at the station / airport when they lose their baggage, and are asked questions like "Why have you come here?", "Recollect the names and phone numbers of persons you know here, but mind you, don't touch the phone", "We are not going to look at any documents, but you need to prove us that you are really you", "Wait till your baggage arrives. It might take a couple of days, but that's fine, wait here".
The issue is NOT ABOUT SRK. It is about the prejudice against Indians. Folks who have been through this will understand. For others, it is just publicity. I therefore wise that those who feel it is publicity, go through the same, and then tell proudly how much they enjoyed their detention.

Hi, i think all the comments are correct. But what confuses me is why only Indians or Muslims from India are targeted. I never heared that americans ever checked so tightly to any Pakistan leaders or any famous people from pakistan.
And talking about 9/11 attack, i just wanna say that u all people have mind so u can see the video and understand that its not only the act of terrorist but some where their is the hand of americans also. Because it makes us think how can a building fall down by plane crash and that too vertically without damaging other buildings.
also people say after 9/11 america has strengthened its security, i want to ask before 9/11 how many bomb blasts or any other news u people have heared, in america.
I do not say that what happened with srk is wrong, i say it is good and moral giving action but just wander why only always we Indians, no matter what community we belong.
I feel that america just wants to show that they do not give importance to famous Indian people and so they can treat normal people also same way or may be worse than it.

SRK Detained!! Instead of we should do the same with America we had better ask CAN WE DO THE SAME WITH AMERICAN? Answer will open your eyes.
Shruti Gadkari
Instead of cribbing about this issue India should learn a lesson from US officials and upgrade our security. Shahrukh was detained coz he had a Muslim name if India starts doing that too instead of trying to portray itself as a blind secular country we would be a lot more safeer and happier. Islamic terrorists give a bad name to all Muslims agreed.. even the innocent suffer but they have to suck it up for the security of a nation and the world. Dont blame the US.. learn a few things from them.
Ashish Gupta
why are we blaming US. they are taking strict and unbiased measures to counter terrorism and the results are out there. Not a single attack has happened on their soil since WTC incident. On the other hand India is becoming more and more prone to terrorist attacks.
We should definitely do the same but not beacuse we want to seek revenge for SRK or similar incidents but as a natural response to making security more stringent and effective.

India First Well, when I entered US last time on my green card, the officer said "Welcome Home". How about that?
Kapil Koshti hey dude, ok i agree that US was doing right thing and after 9/11 their hasn't been any terrorist incident. But can u tell me how many terrorist incidents did u hear before 9/11 in america.
And tell me why their is no news that they ever checked any pakistani leader or pakistan famous person so strictly.
America just want to show that they dont give shit about any indian no matter how famous the person is ......

Pradip Bhattacharj..
Ask yourself two simple questions?
1. Is SRK bigger than any country's security?
2. Is he a US citizen?
If the answer to these questions are no, then we should forget about this topic. We are very silly in thinking that US did a wrong thing, Bogus!!!

India First if you have a cart full of apples and oranges and i tell you that some bad oranges need to be identified/separated, would you first sift through all apples????
Rakesh Mehra How about answering this question:
Do you want to protect your country from people of a certain religion, or do you want to protect it in general from everyone?
If you think the answer to this should be yes, then what happened in the US is unfortunate, since it was racial profiling.
If you think the answer is no, then, well, there shouldn't be anymore security checks at all.

First stop pampering people like SRK, he is no Guest of the State. Ordinary citizen should behave like one. Dr. Kalam did not complain about frisking, why is SRK doing Imran Hashmi part 2. His isolation at Newark had nothing to with with religion. Why is he raking that religion sympathy. It has become a fashion - I'm harassed coz I'm a muslim. No apology needed here. Officers were doing their duty and SRK should not complain about. SRK should apologies for un-necessarily causing a flutter. Cheap tricks of over-pampered Indian.
Arjun Shetty
Perfect lesson for Indians who are used to feudal mentality. Where was Mr.SRK when Mumbai attackers killed 200 Indians . Are we not aware of his half hearted tears!! His answers to Indians that day have come back to haunt him today in USA. Before making movies like My name is Khan-- SRK needs to make movies like Why is Khan name attacked?? Instead of making 5 billion people of this world understand your faith, its much easier and honorable to make your faith understand the world-thats what we need for security of this world. Lets face facts.
Pradip Bhattacharj..
Have we all gone crazy!!! Who is Shahrukh Khan when it comes to homeland security maintenance of a country like USA. I mean, we need to understand that due to these strict screening rules and procedures, US never had another 9/11. SRK is too little when it comes to National Security of a country, be it US or any other country. We should learn someting from Americans, rather than talking about our Mountain-Like Egos!!!
Smitashree Choudhu..
No ! A foolish comment by a minister cannot be a collective conscience of a nation.
So many cases of such profiling all the time but media never cared ,now unnecessary hype for one man ??? Too much celebrity worship by media.

It is not only SRK, a muslim but many of our ordinary citizen whether they are muslim or hindu as well as ministers and officials had been subjected to this humiliation. So it deserves to reciprocate the same manner. After all the father of all terrorism is the "Great" United States of America.
India First how about pimp? that proves how shallow your mega stars in their personal lives...
beaten? by a film buff? you havent even discussed anything with me or others here on an intellectual level yet.

India First you have no idea how much cash dealing these actors do. i have dealt with some of them. if he is self respecting, dont go there...thats it. if a policeman beats me and i get no justice, yes, i will leave the country for good and never look this way. if srk has self respect and has really been hurt, he should not go there for never, never release a movie there. lets see how strong his ethics and integrity is...
India First then why go to US at all? SRK makes tonnes of cash money out there and perhaps not even give taxes there...stay home friends...
Sohail Ahmed well I fully agree with Fred Nobel very sensible reply which most Indian hindu mentality cant think and bow their heads under US flag since ages
Shika Krish
SRK should grow up if this was a publicity stunt for his forthcoming movie My name is Khan he has achieved his goal now hope the movie does good or all this hulla gulla will be waste.Unlike India in US rules are rules they did not leave President Clinton then who the heck is SRK
He is just known for his some stupid tree romancing movie oh please give a break

And Indian politicians and media are happy to just play the minority-victim card! For instance, media created such mountain over the Emran Hashmi incident, but totally forgot to cover the news with the same zeal when Hashmi said that he was NOT a victim of religious profiling! Why didn’t the media go after him for making such senseless and dangerous statements?
9.The bottom line is that the room for common sense and professionalism has been shrinking in India, and fast being replaced by mediocrity, fluff, and sensationalism!

India First if law enforcement anywhere in the world was always 2 steps ahead of criminals/terrorists, we would never have terrorist attacks. right? remember, those cowards strike the unarmed. go face to face and we will see how smart they are
Malav Shah great reply..really appreciate it..
Indian Doost i completely agree...SRK is just a person who works in movies....why should he get different treatment than all others...
on other hand, us should also have a system that is more refined to identify more of criminals and less of common people...after all they now have 8 years of experience / data since 9/11

what SRK said was absolutely not right. "He was upset and angry because it was his Muslim name that caused all this"America is a different country after 9/11, security is a high measure here unlike India whose record on this is shameful. Instead of making SRK’s detention an issue, we should think of upgrading our own security apparatus. There’s a lesson in this — a positive one. The law is law and equal to evreyone, no matter what and no difference at all: Stop fawning, shed the colonial hangover and make no compromise where the country’s safety is concerned. I love Sharuk Khan. They did their duty and we must accept this...it's quite obvious the feeling one should undergo...but not a big issue
India First well...muslims have called it upon themselves....100% of terrorism is perpetrated by them..non-muslims are worse off..they get killed..and muslims get profiled...which one would you prefer?
Jaya Paul yea in a way they were doing their duty, but why this unneccesary hate for muslims till now, even we dnt do that with them
Rizwan Sayed
Come on Laila,
You grow up.
shahrukh achieved being in top 50 influential man in the world.U cannot take 2 hrs to recognise Global icon.Americans are always trying to act smart. They need a lesson. They where taught lesson 9/11. They are the reason of terrorism in world.

Rahul Raj in ur point of view he is global icon but in US security point of view he is an ordinary man and they did their duty. I never notice in him having any qualities to become global star.
Yogesh Gaonkar What ICON who decide it ? If he is Icon then why not he himself done it to clear security stuff... why he need to call Indian Embassy..... Now everyone knows that 1hrs is normal for securty check-in.. it happens to everyone..irfan khan, harabhajan etc...so what's the big deal out of it..... u cant get VIP status when visiting US and its right as per security norms....
Rahul Raj Who told he is Global icon, its cheap publicity gimics, I feel shy to hear about the incident and his kiddish act
Vijay Kumar we are smart ...don't mass with usa
you better go to pak. and learn terr ...lesson with them ok

Rragjav Achar Hey Brother, when it comes to country security every one should be questioned. Who made him super start, himself? no its us... when we are going through this why not he? When a person like Honorable former president MR ABDUL KALAM did not say anthin, why he acting more here? Its not muslim or hindu... its country men... Tell us how many time did he react to the same when many other khans were interrogated? If he was a right person, should have taken it up long back when its was happening for other Khans.. dont u think brother? Your kind of people give him super star title and fight ... n finally u guyz spoil ur beautiful future whereas he enjoys it.. :) Think brother... I wish a beautiful future for U...
Arjun Shetty grow up man stop talking your version of truth. why do americans need a lesson??? Is that what you are going to teach your son-to do a 9/11/From the way you are talking-it seems the americans are perfectly right in what they do. Learn to live with rules of world not your religion or you have seen what happened to SRK!!!
Laila Majnu My dear friend, why should things be different for influential men and women?
Kaushik Sanyal
I expect India to follow its own immigration rule book - nothing more nothing less. If by following that rule book, we stop "Barak Obama" so be it...the immigration official in question just followed the rule book his govenment has given him. In that rule book there is no special provision for "Do-you-know-who-I-am" Shah Rukh Khan! Now as far as I can see, SRK has two options to live with the USA immigration rule and abide by it or not to go to USA ever !..Don't expect USA to change their rules for SRK! May be we Indians are always bypassing rules and making arrangments for high-and-mighty but the bloody americans don't care!! And they should not if you ask me !
S K true!

Talking about the races - coming to a bit of a different kind of a hassle. Did anyone know if one requires any of the life saving machines that are not available in India and have to be imported - one has to have a presription - an no not by an Indian doctor. A doctor who has prescribed it in the US!!!! I wonder how many people can actually afford to get those items - as they cost the earth in the black market.
Kaushik Sanyal
Hey guys, I think India should learn that, "VIP treatments" which are part of everyday life in India, does not happen in other parts of the world. Even, ex-president of USA Al Gore has to go through security checks in US airports ! I don't know why SRK is making such a big issue out of it or so called patriotic Indians are raising such a noise ! Everyday in our lives, we see or meet people who takes advantage of their VIP status in India and resent that - why should it be different in this case. I am no USA lover but I recognize the fact that a small time Immigration official can insist to follow the rule book. I hope it also happens in India.

Hahaha indians pushing another debate.
No one dares to touch America. Alrite.
You don't want India to be desintegrated like Iraq and Afghanistan.
SO stop being foolish.

Instilling fear in human minds and markets that spring up to secure people is not just an American but an occidental phenomena. Security is a huge business. Creation of jobs that enforce security is not well known in India where people are rather robust and great fighters in real life. The security measures is just making the average American weaker and he/she falling into the deep trenches of fear and ignorance. I think selling security and making India more secure and employing a tit for tat approach will only make us highly dependent. We must seek self-realization at a global scale and not play a ding dong game with the Americans. There is ancient knowledge in India that can enlighten everyone starting with ourselves.

We should not do anything regarding this, what we can do is, we should learn from them and tightening our security as well. why fight always like this for other persons security, America has there own norms and so should us.
Balram Naipal
The Americans are so stupid - I don't blame them for behaving in this manner with SRK.
India First go touch SRKs feet when he lands back in bombay..
Jaya Paul actually u r right
Laila Majnu
The other Khan Salman reacted saying: It’s good that the country has such a tight set-up.... Do you think he said so because of his enmity with SRK.
Vaarun Narayan
I think we are not reacting on the right issue, the central issue here is not a ‘do-you-know-who-I-am’ insult to Khan’s honour, It isn’t an American immigration official’s job to know who is a movie star where. Nor should we expect it to be, it happened with Kalam and it happens with so many people everyday , please understand that US immigration software frequently chooses people to stop and question further randomly; that randomness is sometimes moderated by a complex set of parameters, the details of which are not public for security reasons and they are a little scared of muslims thats it./...
Deepak Khullar what's teh probability that SRK was not carrying any ammunition or any other thing that terrorist might carry. even our politicians have been used by the terrorists to transport dangerous things from one point to another. checking SRK was the duty of the US airport authorities. They just did their duty. actually the problem comes with the Indian minsdset where influential people escape all these checks and afterwards carry ammunitions for terrorists. SRK's problem is that he is angry for US officials" DIDNT KNOW WHO HE WAS".
Laila Majnu Agreed Varun!
SRK might be an icon to Indians and many in the subcontinent, even to the desi diaspora spread across the globe, but to America he’s just a visitor.
We may be convinced he cannot be involved in anything that’s remotely violent, but the guard given the responsibility of stopping something like 9/11 from happening in his country again will want to take no chances. And what is the possibility that he’s a die hard fan of the Khan and Bollywood? Very slim.
The same day, even, musical legend Bob Dylan was asked for an ID by two cops.
It happens only in India that Who's whos escape the queues, processes and given special treatment... that is why we continue to have parliament attack, plane hijack, serial bomb blasts, 26/11 - one after another... and they don't have any after 9/11... they don't even spare their Prez's friend and can even retort to him with 'way off base'...
It is only in our semi-feudalistic culture that we are taught since childhood, to give and receive VIP treatments.
Grow up Indians!!!!

Its a shame on US, and i think the same thing happened with Abdul Kalam, its not just because they are people known , but one reason for the furore is that India, which has the world's second-largest Muslim population, is proud of its syncretic culture and secular orientations.

Hmm... Nice comments!!! I you need to be ashamed for talking like this. I think the US doing the right stuff. I feel appreciating the US for talking this step. They have given the highest level of interest to their countrymen, unlike India. They have full rights to do so and they consider their countrymen as their biggest asset. Count how many times the underworld dons escaped from the hands of Indian
Government and image what would have US done if the same thing had happened. Think out of the box.
Nami… Why did not he (SRK) do so when the same happened with Abdul Kalam and other public? Is it because he was not the prey?
Think twice before posting any comments for or against to something or someone who is under gone this. Because this will project how our country men are thinking about such topics rather than thinkin about fighting for the swine flu or terrorism. Tell me how many of you did pray for the soul of unni Krishnan, who died in taj to save our innocent Indians. Tell us how many times you remember the Kargil heros, freedom fighters? I know your answer… its Zero
Tell us how many times salman was punished for his hit and run cases?
This will definitely gives us the picture of our security level. Give a damn for such type of stuff and think about how we can better our security system.
Ask yourself or wait for time to give answer when you will become victim of terrorism…

This is no joke people. Shah Rukh Khan is the biggest movie star in India, a country of 1.3 billion people, thereby making him the biggest movie star in the world. I'm struggling to find a comparable here in the US. No offense to Will Smith or Matt Damon or Pitt, Cruise, Clooney, Angelina or whomever else you can think of, but they all pale in comparison. The detention was shameful and U.S should apologize, they better
Rrpt Eww How can u compare SRK with giants like Will Smith, Tom Hanks, Nicholas Cage??? They pale in comparison??? Looks like you have never been outside whatever town it is u are from. "US should apologize, they better" ??? And who made u the boss??? They owe no apology, if any one should apologize its Shah Rukh for acting like a spoiled brat, next time tell him to stay in India, that's the only place he belongs.
Sivaramakrishnan S.. Not a big deal If a guy like Khan detained. See US has faced lot of security issues than other countries. And don't treat khan as super power to represent india. He might get his recognition with in India. But dont expect the same from whole world. Each country has its own perspective in dealing people.
Fill Some Brains cool Indian why dont you just stop discriminating against south Indians!
and before talking about Americans just get a MRI done to check whether you still have some brains left ! you duschback ! misguided missile

Yogesh Gaonkar Its shame !!!!...do u know when SRK has been asked by Security Officer to declare his purpose of visit.. he said , he is visiting US for SouthAsian Community to celebrate Independence... and when he asked to clear what SouthAisan comunity .. he said proudly included pakistan, Afganistan in his reply..... so why not anyone stop for detaination....And ofcourse when he has been questioned more then disclosed his Indian Citizenship.... which he could have done earlier when asked.... Shame on you SRK ... be proud to say you are Indian... World knows India is subcontinent.. no need to say South Asian any more
Arjun Shetty Gayathri -do you know the size of United States and its impact on the world??? Now compare that to India and its influence. It is nothing. WillSmith and Tom Cruise are house hold names in every nook and corner of the world !!!! Its a laughable joke that you compared SRK to these icons. Looks like your small world is all you know. Do you know that SRK is a joke in Tamil Nadu or AP where he is nothing. what makes you think he is the biggest star ?????
Do you know how many countries are there in this world-the only film world each and every country knows first is HOLLYWOOD-- that will remain so FOREVER . My point is to explain you and not to make fun of you. SRK is average by Indian statndards-there ARE greater stars in his own generation. Also know that USA is the world!!! There are more 100 times more celebrities like SRK IN USA than anywhere else in this world. Its unfortunate what happened to SRK but there are genuine reasons why it happened. No one not even GOD is greater than security of a human being. If someones faith or name is a concern, he has to be checked or we will see more Mumbai like incidents. Who cares SRK over the life of my country men!!!! WHEN WILL WE STOP keeping emotions aside for the well being of this nation. By time I finish replying you the neighbouring Pakistan-the terrorist hell is already conspiring for another Mumbai-while we can keep seeing junk like " My name is Khan" to keep SRK happy. India and only India should matter when it comes to security. No our emotions or any religion.

When Pakistan make us agree with their false claim that we have a hand in their internal insurgency in Balochistan, we can't help but nodding in agreement... now when US is following a routine procedure to ensure their own security we can't stop crying foul....
