Topic owner: Srihari Reddy: This seat for money scam is going for over last 14 years i know of from 1995. Its rampant all over india and not contained only in Chennai. In 1995 itself they were demanding 20 lakhs for a seat in three prestigious private institutes in tamil nadu (Chennai, Chidambaram, Salem), 1 in pondicherry (karikal), almost 12 private medical colleges in karnataka (Banglore, Mangalore, Kolar, Gulbarga, Belgaum, Mysore, etc), 6 medical colleges in Maharastra (Pune, Nasik, Lathore etc) and 1 in Delhi (Ghaziabad). It has now in 2009 spread so much that it has involved MCI, DCI, DNB Board, Ministry of Health etc. Children of MCI President, and Vice President and EX Health Minister are studying in these exposed colleges. Now the EX - health minister is talking so much? I ask him one question how did your children and your relatives obtain seat in that institution without donation as cash or as favour. I again question him how many students has he recom,mended for the seats in MBBS, MD, & MS in last five years of his tenure. Now he is coming out and talking out against this scam. All Rubbish just Dikavat. What did he do when he was the health minister?
I Challange the TIMES NOW and TIMES OF INDIA to bring to light more and more of these colleges to light and not to succumb to political pressure!!!
Why Now and not 13 years ago? It would have saved many Thousands of meritious students from INDIA leaving the country and going to Russia, Ukraine, Nepal etc in pursue of their Great Dreams to Become a Doctor and under went great toils and hardship none of you could imagine and dare to experience just to fullfil their dreams.
I again challange this Website, TIMES NOEW and TIMES of INDIA so that many more of these doctors would stop when they too can get their MBBS, MS,MD from india.

This all fuss is also going to die due to political pressure it seems. corruption is deep routed in our education system and every one from ministers to institutions like UGC and others are involved in it.
