Kapil Sibal's idea of removing 10th board exam, agreeing Nandita's EXAMS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM, July 2 is not going to do that much good and it seems impulsive. For some, it is a yardstick to measure their calibre,to others it is the threshold to entering into the opted stream and sometimes pathetically, it becomes solemn aim to pass the exams and an inspiration to continue.It is not and should not be burden and a mess to the teachers, students, parents and authority.Rather, we can see how enthusiastically and responsibly students prepare for it and become more responsible towards their studies at their age of 15.It should be improved and our aim should be to make it more useful. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has got the perfect vision and mission though corruption like majority of students from well off families get admission, does prevail. However, an educational institution must be proactive enough in moulding behaviour and manners of students and adding social values besides giving text book education.HRD Minister Sibal could instill some more important criteria like compulsoring submission of assignments periodically, providing practical knowledge along with theory relating day to day events, assessment and upgradation of abilities and qualities of teachers than getting rid of useful exams.
