Chiranjib Mazumdar:
Well done Pooja, read ur story in the Times, felt bad for your mother... but at the same time, felt elated at the way you and your sister brought smiles to her face. Really, you are the face of the progress India is making and the progress the Indian woman is making. It is a shame for all of us that people still discriminate of the basis of gender. But yes, God is there and he has a scale in his hand. He knows pretty well, how much one deserves. So, frankly, kudos to you. You deserved it. May God bless you and may He add hundreds of more feathers to your cap. But, one caution: Please keep your feet on the ground. You are in the glamorous world and one false step can shatter your dreams. So, have faith in the God, stay grounded and with the blessings of your mom, you will rise to heights envied my many.
God bless you. And yes, please add me to the list of your fans. :D
Take care.
Nishant Kumar: I spent 3 precious years of my life in mumbai. And believe me i really miss mumbai now.terribly. Its one purpose full place, u never get bored. Everyday brings you something new. Sheer amazing

Ms. Pooja. Congratulations once again. The hardwork has been finally rewarded. I really liked the way you have written this blog. It truly reflects the simplicity in you inspite of becoming Ms.India.
I want you to wish you Good Luck for the next big event- Ms. World. I am sure the actual hardword will start now, with all expectations of billions of Indians will be on you. I am sure you must have made up your mind and started with the preparations to face the stiff competition. God has been with you throughout and will be with you when you enter the competition as well. The next big Dream of winning the Crown is near and you will do it in style.
I consider you as my idol and you have motivated me and so many people to give their best in Life. Thank you so much.
Anindita Dutta:
Hey Pooja,
Firstly Congratulations... God has given your family many many tests in the past but you all have stood undaunted and passed all of them with flying colours.... just as you did in your school exams. This recognition stands a testimony and I'm sure shall go down in history.
I've kept a clipping of your story in my bedroom bulletin board and everytime I set my eyes on it, it sets a whole different kind of energy within me. Aunty and Shubra are the reason for who you are today and be ever thankful to them. Through your story I've learnt what courage and faith is all about. May God Bless you and your family. May your story be an inspiration for hundreds and thousands of people out there.....
Chirag Patel: waw great

Abhishek Srivastav..:
Hey pooja, this is abhishek from Bahrain.
i am speechless on reading this story. I just visualized what your mother went through all those years. Her courage to leave the man who once married her, then abused her just for bearing you and your sister is commendable. I salute to your mother. Damn that man, he must be sulking today of ignoring you and your mother. my best wishes all always with your family.
Keep at it!
Neeraj K:
Congratulations!
Now please use your image/ fame towards helping poor and needy people.
Don't be just like other MISS INDIA girl.

Hope not to see you in Bollywod beauties!
Use your talent to represnt india in big way!

Jyothi Prakash:
Really I don't have words to say anything more.
Being a motherless person I really know what mother really means to anyone. But luckily u have a very caring mother becoz of whom ur in this position now. So always be thankful to her.
May that god keep u all happy forever now at least .
Well In my life I have never seen happiness. So UR life is inspiring me that one day I'll also be happy.
I think all of us who go through so much hardships right from childhood have something good in store for future. It happened in Ur case. I expect and hope it happens in everyone else case.
Again I congratulate U and Hope U have gr8 future.
One suggestion is never forget sacrifices of Ur mother and sister for u and the position from where u came. This will keep u grounded however heights u reach in Ur life.
Kudos!!!!!
Sandeep Reddy: good luck pooja for your further accomplishments, your life journey could be a inspiration for the people who read this blog.
Posted on Wed, 29 Apr, 2009 Report abuseRavi Shankar: Well my father was addicted for horse racing and I had to leave the house when I was 16. Did an apprenticeship joined in a factory and the did DME, AMIE, MS and finally my doctrate in germany.I know thoroughly in India how much effort it takes to come up if one has no money influence support etc. When you are a girl it might take 3-4 times of that effort. I can imagine the struggle,so many sleepless nights, agony and the mental instability. Pooja deserves every bit of it but she has a great oppurtunity to do a lot of good things. Awareness of importance of girl child is one of those. Mathrobhoomi (a nation without women) by manish jha should be seen by all indians. Equal rights for girl child should be given in all sense. She has to focus on miss world and then the responsible jobs that she can do in her capacity. All the best and wishing and hoping that she would do a big difference. Her mother has started it and she can take to diffrent heights.

Posted on Tue, 28 Apr, 2009 Report abuseJohn Vendokaran: God works wonders you know. I am sure the Man who walked out your Mothers’ life was a blessing in disguise. With this freedom your Mother was able to show you the hard life which you & your Sis surely cherish. Had your father not walked out, he would have made life more miserable for your Mother and perhaps tortured you girls too. He would have not let your’ll see the outside world. So consider this walk out a HUGE blessing. May be the Man wants to claim a share of the laurels. Do not be surprised. But be mentally prepared to ask him 'who are you Mr.? If he says, he is your father, tell him your Mother has been your Father too and that you know no other Father. OH Mother regret not and forgive not this man ever. Shed no tear. Finally, I wish you all a happy life. Let the crown be on the head, the head on the shoulder, keep the human heart , Wear heels that touch the earth. Remember your Mother whenever you see a downtrodden Mother or girl child.
