The moment my name was called out, it was as if one of my dreams had come true. The other dream was to cut my birthday cake with the Miss India crown firmly secured on my head. On May 3rd is my birthday, so I have fulfilled both my dreams. It’s all like a fairytale.

Looking back at the last one month, it seems like the most eventful month of my life. The PFMI’09 trainers really helped us mould ourselves into confident people. I knew that if I remain honest in my answers and my approach, my trainers will be able to help me out better. Thus, I took forward every little tip and advise they gave me right till the pageant finale. Of course, I have others to thank as well. My family, especially my mother, who is a single parent has worked relentlessly for 23 years to bring me up without depriving me of anything, not even a father’s love. So, this crown is my thanksgiving to her. Nothing in my life would have been possible without her around. Even during the training session at the pageant, I used to miss my mom the most.

It was God’s wish and my destiny that with my hard work, I win the crown. I am already thinking of the international Miss World pageant where I will be representing India. But before the rigorous training starts again, I want to indulge in some heavenly chocolate brownies with vanilla stacked on it. I also want to take adequate rest. With the crown, I know my responsibility is now towards my country. But honestly, in my heart I feel — This world is mine!
I am quite a sports-oriented person with an interest in kick-boxing and paragliding.
