Karthik Balaji:
Hi Pooja! You'd obviously not be surprised to find people 'Google'ing you, but when I did that and read whatever little info is available about you and your life on Wikipedia and your blog, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that you're not just another pretty face. You may be an amazingly beautiful girl (which, obviously, you DO know :D), but probably what is more important, is the fact that you're an amazingly beautiful person with a beautiful and strong heart!
When I read about your Mum...WOW...I must say I am a HUGE fan of her! That's one strong-hearted and strong-willed lady! I was dismayed to read about your Dad! People like that give other men a bad name. But the fact that you Mum, Sis and you got out of that and came away so strong from it, is truly a testament to all of you and truly inspirational. You might even consider making this aspect of your life a little more public...it could be a source if inspiration to loads of people.
And your contribution to 'Nanhi Kali'...inspired...and remarkable! I can see that there could be a slight hint of a personal touch to the bond you share with this particular NGO, but it none-the-less again goes a long way in showing what a beautiful heart you've got, and what an amazing human being you are!
And finally, during the pageant...the fact that you took the stage despite your injury...that's all heart! Being an avid sportsman, I can appreciate what it means to overcome physical pain and still go on with the 'game'. That in itself is truly inspirational. It then no longer matters whether you won or not...you haven't let the country down...quite the opposite, in fact...you've done us all proud...you've shown the GRIT and RESILIENCE that is India! It takes real strength of character and courage of conviction to do what you did!
Lastly, you may think that all this is flattery...but believe me...its not! Every word has come straight from my heart, and every word is true. I just wanted to convey my first impression. You are just an amazing person and I'm proud to call you a fellow-Indian and a fellow-Human Being. Godspeed in all your endeavours!
Rohit Khurana: hey sherlyn... i love you.... you are so sexy... check out www.kitesmovie.co.in.. even barbara mori is looking nothing infront of you!!!! love you.. Happy New yr to you... hope to see you in many movies in 2010...

Sometimes, with no where to turn to, I surf the net in search of some ray of hope that gives me the courage to pull on, something to tell me "you're almost there, don't give up". I read about you and your mom when I searched for "single parent chennai". Tell your mom thanks a ton for giving me hope.

Hi Poo... The Blog was nicely written & I can understand the amount of time management u have to do to write blogs & write to your fans.. Not many celebrities communicate dat frankly & U r simply rocking..
We r not the judges who r going to give u the marks so it z absolutely fine with whatever language u use until ur fan's can comprehend dat..
Tak Care.. Best Wishes 2 U... :)
Nidhee Datta: HI, Pooja, congratulations on winning the crown and your story sure is a very inspiring one. Since you are an inspiration for a lot of youngsters, I would like to make a small suggestion in all humility. It would be nice if you could use proper english language while blogging. The language in these times has a gone a massive change and that too for the worse. As much as it is a small issue to be addressed, language(spoken or script) tells a lot about a person and his education. You seem to be an academically brilliant student as mentioned and your blog must depict this. For the past few years, using the sms language, mainly because of its convenience has caught up more so with youngsters , but celebrities and inspiring people like yourself can help decline this trend.

My advise to all the young girls/ woman is to fight vigorously to get passed the decades' long pending WOMEN RESERVATION BILL in Indian Parliament. It will bring a lot of changes in our society which is what the men dominated our society always hate.

Aguy Frommumbai:
Hey Pooja, i did watch parts of competition you won but as a guy didnt really care who won. Only thing that caught my eye was Winner is from Pune, my Favorite City :) (though i am in and from mumbai ).
I am huge man ,31, enjoying work, playing violent games on playstation 3 , watch horror movies and enjoy superhero type movies like watchmen etc. you get the picture.
Now when i was reading your mom's story, I had to stop reading it many times, Trying to hold my tears and not choke on them, hoping no one suddenly comes in my room and sees me choking on tears, I even made plan to lie that I am smelling onion and thats why watery eyes.
Guess what, Your Mom is my super-hero, My mom passed away 10 years ago but she too went through similar hardships, I think this present generation living in luxury and excess hav parent/s who went thru some hardships (not the extent which your mom went) and this story brings all those memories back.
Don't stop here, Go win the Miss World crown.
Suresh Nair: good bless you & family!
Posted on Fri, 01 May, 2009 Report abuseFree Mind: Dear Pooja, though your mum's story is very touching and inspirational indeed but please beware of media. Do not go overboard with emotions and all the attention you are getting. The media is out to exploit it and leave you all in the lurch when it stops bringing them moolah. Life has just begun for you, there's much to come. If I may say so - do not open up too much to everyone. All the best.

Abhishek Srivastav..:
Hey pooja, this is abhishek from Bahrain.
i am speechless on reading this story. I just visualized what your mother must have went through all those years. Her courage to leave the man who once married her, then abused her just for bearing you and your sister is commendable. I salute to your mother. Damn that man, he must be sulking today of ignoring you and your mother. my best wishes all always with your family.
Keep at it!
Pari Chandak: Hey pooja.....this is surbhi..I am one of the ppl who is following your blog since you mom contributed to it. Now when i have read many of your entries and saw all your pictures..i feel so proud that you made it to the top. Reading it made me feel that I know you so well and that you are just like the girl next door who won the biggest title and made all of us proud. And your mom...just hats off to her...you truly deserve this recognition because you are not from some high profiled family or an NRI with a flux of income but you are one of those 70% indians who belong to the middleclass clan and really struggle to achieve what they deserve. Good luck for the future. Lots of love to you
