My personal visit to Tamil Nadu and I say Tamil Nadu rather than any city there is because I have tended to feel the difference living in Bangalore. We meet Tamilians everywhere, to cross the border of Karnatak somehow seemed a big detail to me, although people move in and out many times. The tension between Tamil(minorities) and Kannadigas in Bangalore is felt high and can be verified from the earlier song features of Chitramala, on our local TV, Doordarshan Kendra, Bangalore, predominantly on Monday evenings if I remember well. The impression I could get from local Tamilians was a sigh of relief and comfort as they would identify with their song interests. Video came a little later wherein a fullfeature was available to relate with the songs which were well out-of date in releases. I did learn of the impression that Tamilians were putting up a strength and sounded against the local Kannadigas or the tension of an uprising was being felt. I have my personal opinions and the times have shown riots in the city and taken to political compromises and literature issues. The hard felt area was definitely, the Kannad film industry as they relied on the Studios at Madras for help. I can imagine the lobbying thereafter. But it is definitely a thanksgiving of earlier times.
Issues in India exist/have existed all over. Many have informed us of its debacle, only to feel ignored as I feel, of its return, atleast for the people who believe in it and outnumber those who dont.
We in the South of India if were more confident earlier were to bring Ms. Priyanka Gandhi as our daughter-in-law, bride to one Mr. Ian D'Souza, the writer of this article.
Let me inform you, that this Mr. Ian D'Souza happens to have opposers to this celebration from way back since his childhood. No one knows what will happen if the lady in mention meets with this person. He is now sought after as a fugitive/escapee from the clutches of investigations into the murder of Mrs. Indira Gandhi and thereon. The most important visit of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Mrs. Maneka Gandhi and their families is still far away.
People in India are/have been underestimated even by the highest order of investigation in this land, owing moreso to the busy activities spread out in the nation to cause the State of disturbance. Impressive as it is, India has many friends who realise and have questioned me when I was a visitor abroad, as to what is happening to India. All I could say was taxes were more interesting and the price for the common man to live was inevitably suicide.
My request to my people is prayer as we tend to gradually live our dream of carrying on with dynasties/families and the recent knowledge of our lost/buried Kingdoms.
