Starting off his career by working in music videos and commercials, Shahid made his Bollywood debut as a background dancer in Subhash Ghai's Taal. Four years later, he made his debut as a lead actor in 'Ishq Vishk' for which he won the Filmfare award for Best Male Debut.

This was followed by other acclaimed performances in movies like 'Fida' and 'Shikhar'. His first commercial success was 'Vivaah', followed by 'Jab We Met' and 'Kaminey'.

Shahid comes from a filmy background. His father Pankaj Kapur, is considered to be one of the finest actors in the industry. Apart from his acting and dancing skills, Shahid shot to fame with an MMS clip of him and Kareena Kapoor (his then girlfriend) giving 'mouth-to-mouth resuscitation' (looked like) to each other in a suburban night club in Mumbai.

Post his break-up with Kareena, Shahid has been linked with everyone from Vidya Balan to Priyanka Chopra to Anushka Sharma to Deepika Padukone & even Genelia!!! Quite a reputation that...

His last release was 'Chance Pe Dance' opposite Genelia and his upcoming movies this year include 'Milenge Milenge', 'Paathshala', and 'Badmaash Company'.
