Hi dearest friends!You would call me silly if I celebrated my birthday everyday. Likewise you would call a married couple insane if they celebrated their wedding anniversary everyday. It is so because special events are celebrated on specific dates. Not anytime or everytime. Now consider this question:
Since when has the world’s most powerful emotion-LOVE become an event?
Would it be silly to celebrate ‘love’ everyday in our lives?
Do we have to set aside a specific day to express our ‘love’ to the special people in our lives?
My answer is, ’Absolutely Not’. I do not want to limit my celebration of ‘love’ to just twenty-four hours in a year. I would like to pamper and be pampered all through the year. And so, the concept of Valentine’s Day does not interest me at all. As a matter of fact, it endorses ‘love’ as a commodity. The concept has commercialized the idea of ‘love’.
Today youngsters feel pressurized to purchase expensive gifts to express their heartfelt feelings to people special to them. To shower gifts out of free will is a lovely thing to do. But to feel obligated to do so takes away the joy from the celebrations.
I would like to treat 14th Feb like any other day and treat ‘love’ not as an annual event but as an everyday occasion.
Girls are smitten by guys who pay attention to the simple things in life which are mostly the small things that we tend to ignore. It is the journey that makes the destination exciting. And not vice versa. It does not matter where my date would take me out for dinner; a five star hotel or a road side dhaaba or some place else. What matters is how my date would treat me all along the journey.
I would like to feel special everyday and to feel so I must choose to walk in love every single day.

this is the first time i m writing somting in blog. Actualy i m agree with you but not 100% .... yes to celebrate the LOVE is only 24 hrs is very less... it 's whole life to celebrate. But this 24hrs we only want to dedicate to our lover.. with our partner..... In this 24hrs you want to convince to your g/f of b/g that you are the only right person for her/him... and you are the special one for him or her.
And yes to show your love , feelings ... you have to do somthing special for your lover... and in this situation everyone thinks to do somthing new for his/her lover.. so to buy an expensive gifts , dinner in 5 star hotel doesn't mean that they are showing his/her money or status... it's also a way to express their feelings and love. Their love is also true. And offcouser jiske pass money hai woh yeh sab karega.... !

I think Love is like O2 for a relation and you cant live without if for a minute. we tend to ignore most simple and basic truths of our life simply because we are used to them and take it as granted.If we are in love with some one and really cares about her,Every second is a Valentine Second.
Each day is different and expression of love may change but every day is a VD.Not without any fuss but a common simple love story when a office going hubby kisses his wifes and say I LOVE YOU .... i will call it a true VD.Coz they never wait for 14 feb but instead make it one.

Posted on Tue, 09 Feb, 2010 Report abuseUttam Kumar: WOW..... the whole idea about Valentines day seemed useless after going through your blog.I do not disagree with ur views about restricting love to 24 hours.But then u need a special day for which you plan much in advance just to get the necessary approval & praise from ur partner.It certainly gives the kick.The so sweet word from ur partner is certainly intoxicating.And I believe valentines day is probably not only about lovers but two person who feel for each others throughout the year but do get to xpress themselves.It is like the Teachers day, we respect our teachers and love them for their effort to help us grow and probably they also know it.But it is the Teachers day only when we get the chance to express ourselves and we feel so complete.Do point out ur differences in this issue.Discussions with people with grey matters in the right places would surely help me come out with better communicational skills.
