Nandana Sen is an Indian actress of international recognition who has worked in both mainstream as well as offbeat cinema. Daughter of Nobel laureate economist, Amartya Sen and writer Navneeta Dev Sen she started her career with ‘The Doll’.
Her first appearance in Bollywood was as Rani Mukherji’s 17-year-old sister in ‘Black’. Some of her other notable Hindi films include ‘Tango Charlie’ and ‘My Wife’s Murder’. Apart from these, Nandana has also worked in a few short feature films like and ‘The Silence’ sponsored by the UNICEF / UNIFEM.
Nandana, who grew up in India, Europe and America, has worked in films from all the three continents. Nandana loves to play diverse roles of a variety of nationalities and languages.
She made her US film debut in ‘The War Within’. Her 2009 ventures include Ketan Mehta’s ‘Rang Rasiya’ and 'Prince’. She also plays an idealistic young TV reporter in the Bollywood satire, ‘Zindabad’; a tough-talking protagonist in ‘The Forest’. In ‘Kaler Rakhal’, she plays a heroic student and in ‘Season’s Greetings’ she plays a dreamy girl with an open and wild heart.
