Katrina Kaif arrived in India from UK at the age of 17, without any knowledge of Hindi and not knowing how to dance. Today, with 15 films to her credit she is the one the most bankable stars in Bollywood, the most Googled celeb and the sexiest woman in the country.

She was born to a British mother and a Kashmiri father, both British nationals. Teenaged Katrina was rejected by British modelling agencies for not being slim enough. But her hour-glass figure, ravishing beauty, lovely peaches n cream complexion were instant hit with the Indian audience.

In Bollywood, she had to struggle a bit, initially, to find acceptance in the industry due to lack of familiarity in Hindi. A few forgettable roles later, Katrina’s first big break came in 2007 with Namaste London opposite Akshay Kumar. She did her own dubbing in it and it was one of the top grosser of the year. The next year (2008) marked the release of two Race and Singh Is Kinng, with which Katrina got her place in Bollywood cemented.
With five releases (Hello, Yuvraj, Blue, New York, Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani) – on the cards, Katrina is well on the race of being the No. 1 in Bollywood soon.
